Can't agree that the injury to Matip is good news!
It simply isn't on any level. It's not as if the board will be sitting there thinking Matip was reliable until last night.
Overrating Matip here as he isn't a brilliant defender, just a competent one when he plays, but he's as unreliable as you could ever imagine.
For sure, the club need to act now to get a CB, hopefully this is the final straw for the board members (if it wasn't previously).

I just don’t believe it will be. I’m sure the board will have made a decision one way or another based on Matip’s demonstrable unreliability. Last night is just more evidence of what we already knew.
I’m the same after the game as I was before - hoping for a signing but not expecting one. It’s why I don’t see Matip’s injury as anything other than bad news.
I'm fully expecting a signing now.

I'd prefer a fit matip than having a player out forcing the club to scramble.
we've 18 games to go in league plus CL and really the best for all is to buy but a fit player is always better than making the best of his injury.

From klopps most recent interview it sounds like the club are doing everything they can to bring someone in. A pity its taken last night to make this happen. The move shouldve been made 1st january

Matip is our second best defender after Virgil. There was a foot race between him and Son in the first half and he won it comfortably. He is good in the air, is quick and can read the game defensively.

I completely agree. I thought we’d have had somebody lined up at the start of Jan but clearly, the powers that be had their reasons. I hope I am wrong...I think out place on the top 4 could depend on it.
We are basically looking for the cheapest player possible on the shortest deal possible. Mustafi wages will be too high so step forward Aaron Long. Some chubby yank defender who never played outside the US despite being 28.
