Bit early to say a championship player is competent
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair enough but he’s had 4 seasons playing 30 plus games in a decent team so would expect him to be capable
The last player born in Barrow in furness to play for us turned out to be a legend.
Interesting to see how he gets on. Hopefully his experience will help him make the step up to PL level, massive step up no doubt. Welcome.

Better than nothing is all I can offer
Just our luck he orob gets injured coming for a medical
I guess this just must be a stop-gap solution. Otherwise, £2m really signals FSG’s aspirations.

Out of contract in the summer and leaving on a free. Linked with Celtic.

Not really - they were never buying a major player on Jan

So like I said, he’s a stop-gap then.

They may still get him. They'll have to pay £20m though as we don't sell players for less it seems.

It's a stop gap, with potential.
It's up to him to grasp the nettle.
I'm just delighted we have another option. Hopefully no more injuries and we can get Fab back pronto.

He’s just been given a once in a lifetime opportunity, I hope he takes it and then some.
Brilliant...I mean it. Sorely needed
Just make sure there isn't a feck up, and we end up with the Tottenham one. 👍
So no Mustafi to Liverpool?
If Sep is going other way on loan then we probably ain't even paying the 2m for him as Sep will have his own loan fee I wonder?
If it's a choice between getting our 2nd/3rd/4th choice CB now and no one in the summer, or getting Davies as a stop gap now and our 1st choice in the summer, then I think this is the right move.
Let's hope he surprises people.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah probably £500k-£1m. Seps wages must be pretty low so must be something in it for us.
I know nothing at all about the lad but just read an article about him on some preston site and they seem to rate him highly. He has pace, likes to play out from the back and is left sided. All positives for the way we play.
At 2m its a no risk transfer. Personally I think we should have had a deal lined up for the window opening 4 weeks ago but if this deal is a stop gap until summer then fair enough. A body in is better than nobody.
Op. Had you even heard of him before today? Just wondering, as you’re telling us that he’s ‘competent’.

Yes . I follow a few teams in the championship and he’s been fairly consistent in a decent team so would hope he can step up

prob resale value there then at 25 and teams around celtics level interested, low end prem teams prob too. Short term? probably, but lets see what he can do first. Vardy was league 2 at one point older than 25?

Preston have the fourth worst defensive record in the division. No offence, but I think you’re making things up.
