And that’s all I have to say about that.
the worst thing about last nights defeat was the fact cant blame it all on Jose and we actually played well first half hour
i think we go back to dropping off and defending now
this is another west ham reaction i think.
every chance everton had went in, wasnt out night and its just horrible that we played attacking fluid football which would have worked 9/10 times last night but because it was the 1/10, Jose will resort back to type in an 'i told you so' stance.

Sigh....
We were up for a bunch of stuff earlier in the season. But the FA Tin pot and the Premiership are now history.
We're still in the UEFA second level championship.
But can we win that with our current defence?
I've been saying for well over a year now that Levy should be looking for top class CBs like......
yes, you guessed it..........
Upamecano.
And others.
We have the makings of a good team, but by the time Levy gets his act together,.....and stops buying El Cheapos like Doherty, Sanchez and Rodon, and goes out for good stuff,......
Kane & Son may well be gone.

Exactly he will most certainly use it as a "told you so" moment to reintorduce the low block not that it went anywhere really.
My expectations for the season are now top 10 finish, lose the LC final and get beaten by the first decent team we face in the EL happy christmas from Scrooge
Cheapos like Sanchez. 42million pound cheapo.
The point remains though, you have 1 good CB and he's on the wane and a manager who relies on his defence.

It's like you've got a quilt and it's not big enough to cover your shoulders and your feet at the same time?
Pull it up and your feet get cold, pull it down and your shoulders are cold.

Only thing Jose might have done differently to improve last night's result is start Kane, who then would have offered better link up play than Lucas and meant we'd be attacking more than having to defend, but none of us really wanted to have to start Kane so you can't blame him for that. The defence would have still leaked goals, it would just mean we'd have more chance winning by 5-4 than losing by it.
3 goals conceded in like 5 minutes end of 2nd half after they werent even in the game.
totally shocked that Mourinho played that way from the start, if we had been more clinical first 30 mins we would have been 3-0 up, then very different game, but we weren't, so dropped off and got caught out too easily, a very strange experiment from Mourinho and dont expect to see the likes again this season

Alderweireld Rodon is looking like the partnership Jose should stick with.
Sanchez Rodon would be ballsy. Both pacy but Sanchez is dopey
I can't even be bothered anymore with this team, cant defend, can't win games, special one my asssss!
Isn't it funny how other teams manage to both attack AND defend, but Spurs for some reason can only do one or the other
Dread to think what the gameplan against City will be now!
------------
Even though the sides were in very different form when you met, you have actually beaten City this season, and that's something to draw on in order to get the team believing in its chances. City might be clear favourites as things stand right now, but the game's a long way off and form can change. There are so many random circumstances that can happen in a football match; any outcome is possible in a one-off game.
As for the gameplan, it will probably be ten men behind the ball and kick lumps out of them, hoping for a lenient ref who's afraid of 'ruining' a final, and somehow nick something on the break through Son or Kane. I expect him to set up similarly in games leading up to the final so as to rehearse the plan.
It's worked for him before. If it doesn't it will probably involve a red card, a penalty, or some similar kind of controversy he can cling to in order to deflect from the negative approach and play the victim card.
I definitely think you have more of a chance than current form suggests.
Here’s a stat for you
Yesterday was the first time in Jose 900-odd game career that both sides scored 4 or more
Add that to the last week when he lost 2 consecutive home games for first time
Breaking personal records at Spurs. But not the good kind
How spursy
Last night was a bit of a freak, but it's clear we have issues at the back. Hugo, Hoijbjerg and Sanchez were all awful. That's rare for 2/3 of them so hopefully a bit of a one off.
If we play like we did in the first 35 mins (with Kane) we could have a good season. But I'm afraid we'll revert to type and defend. Fair enough against city, but we should be looking to open the game up against teams we are better than.

Yeah, and whilst playing well, we managed to concede 3 goals ( in 7 minutes )
There isn't another top flight team in the world that would do that.Especially on a consistent basis, which we do.
There is a "mentality" issue with this club that has been there since the early to mid 1980's, when we did actually win crucial games.
I have given up my season ticket in 2019 and vary rarely watch Spurs on the telly. I really wish being a fan could just be switched off, like a tap. If it could, I would have done it years ago.
