I’m not saying it is and I hope I’m wrong, but I do worry that’s the end of our season.

"Surely this modern jargon simply means, play well, attempt to get the ball back and attack with quality and accuracy?
Are we suggesting Rodgers told them not to do that and what evidence (other than the players didn’t perform) do we have of that?"
Of course it doesn't, you must know the difference betwen a Team playing a high press and just sitting back letting the other team have 67% possession.
And of course he did, that was obvious, the players play how the Manager tells them, we've clearly played with a high press many times with Great success, Arteta apparently mentioned that's why we won the first game!

I’m confused, you’re saying Rodgers told Ricardo and Barnes to play high but not to press?
No of course not, he told the team not to play with a High Press, that was his mistake.

But if Barnes and Ricardo being static and high up, why did he instruct them to do that but not press?
We just didn’t play very well again

That's the question but it's obvious we weren't playing with a high press, he did a Jose and defended a one nil lead then the game got away from us.
I think the plan was to draw them in and hit them on the counter if we went ahead TB. Problem was we were utterly ineffective at it and we didn’t defend well enough either.
So we needed to get back on the front foot, which we did for all of 4 minutes in the second half before returning to slow, laboured and misplaced passes with no movement and no chance.
