It's a forgone conclusion that City will win the league this season. However, i just wanted us to push on and finish the season a little closer to the leaders rather than a plausible 20 points or so behind. That is the most frustrating part.

I've always said that it's just too soon for us to compete for the league toe to toe.

But a little progression for this season wouldn't have hurt.

The way the team presses just emphasises the need for a better coaching team around Ole. Carrick is a rookie no question about it, Ole is a rookie at this level and pressing wasn’t invented when Phelan was here the first time round.

That’s why we always see comments like ‘we make rubbish sides look like Barcelona’. It’s so easy to play little passes and look comfortable on the ball around 1 striker chasing the ball.
