Quite frankly I'm outraged by that !
I may storm off the match thread
Good Mornin' y'all
Where's Terry?
....was just making a morning cuppa....anyway....morning all and thanks to View for the thread....I actually looked on the map the other day to see where Croxteth was...
...so on to Barnsley....I can remember when we used to rub our hands with glee knowing that 3 points would be in the bag....but not these days eh guys.
Yes, we've dipped a little of late - but if we hadn't made such an awful start to the season then things wouldn't be quite so bad now eh. As pundits here often say - we have to be at 100% every game to get a result. But now time I'd say it's time to regroup and remember what has given us an upturn in the last 3 months - and stick to those principles.
I see Tom Lawrence has returned to full training and could be available next week. He, along with Waggy always used to be good for 10 goals a season each...so hopefully one of them will start to deliver.
So will we stick to the tried and trusted players today - or will Watson get the nod today.
As a footnote I watched the U23's beat Leverpool 4-1 the other day. It was amazing how many quality balls they were putting into the box.... maybe the first team could take note please
It’s amazing that Barnsley would have been relegated but for Wigan’s points deduction last season and now look at them! Optimism for next season if we stay up?
I say this so often I'm sure people are sick of me repeating myself, but the margins are so tight in this league that it takes very little to go from a team in danger of the drop to one competing for play-offs at least. Unfortunately the converse is also true as we and Forest have found this season. Get an organised team that plays to its strengths, whatever those might be, and you can string wins together as Barnsley have shown. Wholesale changes aren't necessary. To realistically challenge for automatic promotion is a bit more difficult and then I do think you need extra quality.
I'm not sick of you repeating yourself

Sheff Utd managed promotion and almost European football solely by organisation. They didn't really have one player you would describe as quality. This eventually caught up with them towards the end of last season. Unfortunately we don't even have the organisation bit yet.
We did though, until three or four games ago when he started fiddling.

............Nope
Just off to get my Covid vaccination.
Lets hope DCFC make it two good reasons to be cheerful today.
You are better off having it first thing in the morning Scouse, then you get a fresh needle.

Erik Alonso in advanced talks regarding takeover of the club.

Any clues, Igor ?
Not a good night for a team that likes to play football.
Not sure whether that affects us, or not ?
Derby County: Roos, Wisdom ©, Forsyth, Shinnie, Edmundson, Jozwiak, Kazim-Richards, Mengi, Clarke, Gregory, Knight.
Substitutes: Idem, Bird, Waghorn, Sibley, Roberts, Buchanan, Wilson, McDonald, Watson.
Don’t much like the team, hope I’m wrong. Presume Byrne is injured.
Roos
Mengi Edmundson Wisdom Clarke Forsyth
Knight Shinnie
Jozwiak
Gregory CKR
Tinker tinker
Erik Alonso - failed with a bid with Sheffield Wednesday and now looking at Derby. Owner of WBD sports proposed an offer via an Indonesian business for Wednesday that was rejected.
This will be the second (although not concrete confirmation of interest) party that attempted to sign a club, failed and moved on to Derby. I'd much prefer a project whereby the potential new investors are interested in DCFC and not someone who has been knocked back elsewhere and come to us as seconds.
Head injury in training apparently
Can't see us scoring tonight, unless Edmundson gets one from a corner

Given how Barnsley play, Edmundson is made for these type of games.
