Tonight`s match is against an opponent

Win convincingly tonight, and then look at the NLD game.
Each game on its merit and one at a time.
We have to make sure we don't concede - that's the rule 1 in Europe.
Good opponents and they are about few times better than any side Spurs faced so far in the competition!

This will be much tougher tonight than any of our games in the competition so far, however it doesn’t change the fact that we should be beating them fairly convincingly.

This is the sort of Europa opponent last managers always seem to underestimate for us, I don’t think Jose will - he knows what’s coming

Jose will definitely rotate.

Winks, Berg, Sissoko etc

They don't appear to be a pushover:

"Dinamo Zagreb’s Zoran Mamic, unbeaten in eight games, is one of the most successful managers in this season’s Europa League. His side won a difficult group with CSKA Moscow, Feyenoord and Wolfsberger, conceding only one goal on the way, then eliminated Krasnodar in the round of 32 last month, winning the home and away legs.

Now the Croatian champions face Tottenham in the first leg of the round of 16 on Thursday and the general feeling at home is they might stand a chance. They have a host of in-form players – such as Mislav Orsic, Bruno Petkovic and Arijan Ademi – and feel that they can go one step further than reaching the last 16 two years ago."

Really looking forward to this game

yeah it will be our biggest test by a bit i think in this comp this season.

should be a good game, certain to enjoy it more than Sunday

I was in Croatia over the summer with my pals watching Dinamo Zagreb go through the qualifiers for this years Europa, they barely scraped it through playing very bad football. By the accounts of my pals back home, they have drastically improved since then so this tie has potential to cause an upset if Spurs revert to form that saw them drop down the PL recently.

Petkovic is a decent technician and has to be watched closely. Him, Orisic and Ademi are the dangermen

Livakovic the goalkeeper has impressed me also, i believe he will go to a big club very soon

For me the key in two legged ties like this when you play at home first is to not concede an away goal. A 0-0 draw wouldn't be the worst result in the world - going to Croatia will be a much less daunting proposition behind closed doors. A win to nil (i.e. 1-0, 2-0) would be a dream - get that sort of result, and then we know if we start well over there and get a goal, the tie is pretty much over.

Morning.

Home or away tonight?

I think you'll do it over 2 legs anyway. Id make you 2nd favorites behind the winners of the united v Milan tie.

Looks like we are going all out for the CL

morning, home mate, tie was moved cause appaz us and woolwich arsenal cannot be at home at the same time

i reckon United are favourites at the moment for EL, all three English clubs left in it have a great chance.

Looks like CL will be your best bet for CL next season..

Hoping to continue playing strong attacking football tonight but I fear Jose's natural instincts will kick in and he'll play not to concede an away goal.

Win, lose or draw.... I’ll cope fine.... I have no expectations for Spurs anymore. I’ll be happy as long as I don’t have to watch Sissoko embarrassing himself and us against technically sound opponent’s

I know a few of us have got a bit carried away in the past few weeks but we have beaten Wolfsberger, Burnley, Fullham (just) and Palace. Tonight and Sunday are high pressure games that actually matter & we all know Spurs tend to fack it up in a big game

Cautiously optimistic

Not really true though is it. Haven`t Spurs beaten United, Arsenal and Man City in the Prem this season. And Chelsea in the Carabou.

I think sometimes our fans get the wrong idea that Spurs never beat any team other than cannon fodder.

Very true Sandy. And let's not forget that Fulham beat Liverpool at Anfield and Burnley held Arsenal to a draw. Unless you're a rampant Man City, there are no easy games and we really ought to start realising that.

True but you have to put everything into context. Our league form has been a mess. We beat United (who had 10 men) & Arsenal (who were falling apart, dont regard them as a big team anyway). Granted City was a good win, Chelsea in the LC was a shocking performance and lets not forget we ballsed up our chances to really kick on when were near the top and make a meaningful impact on the top of the league..... Leicester, Liverpool spring to mind as well as all the points blown from leading positions. .... Point being, Spurs dont deserve much of the optimism that many fans lavish on them...... They always break your heart

They came out of the same group as Wolfsberger who we crushed with ease. That's not to say that they will be easy but their group could not have been that strong if Wolfsberger made it through.

Krasnodar were in Chelsea's UCL group and came third. Chelsea beat them 4-0 away and drew 1-1 in a dead rubber at the end of the group stages.

Zagreb beat them 4-2 over 2 legs.

Croatian team will be a decent technical side so we need to be on our game.

I would prefer us to start with a strong lineup and try and put the game out of reach...but including the likes of Winks, Lamela, Alli, Bergy still gives us a strong team, even if we rest some of Bale, Son, Kane, PEH, Lucas. NDom rested at the weekend so expect him to start.

Unless Spurs fans haven't been paying attention to the last month, there's definitely more reason for us to be optimistic than there was before that. Jose has made some changes which have had a more positive outcome. Whether you rate Palace, Fulham and Burnley that highly, we've still won 3 games in a row and been far more attacking than we were, with Bale coming in and making a difference.

It's fair to be cautiously optimistic with tougher fixtures coming up, but I don't think we have reason to be afraid we're going to fall back into that 5 losses in 6 form.

Not saying it is all rosy, but nowhere near as bad as lots of out fans make out. All teams suffer bouts of poor form during the season. Spurs are no different to any other team.

Spurs are defo playing better, we stand a chance of the top 4 and winning the EL.... all I’m saying is that I wouldn’t be stunned if we went out over 2 legs and lost on Sunday.....It’s just that kinda season and Spurs more than most others are one of those weird kind of teams

Fair enough, and I would not be surprised either, it's cup football, and anything could happen Spurs came close to going out before the competition proper even started.
