Kane is in the last chance saloon against City in the cup? What is he scores 2 and you lose 5-2? Would that mean that you sell him because he hasn't led you to glory? For someone of you age, your naivety around football and most things is staggering. You don't willingly sell your best players and become successful. You build around those players and get recruitment right, which Spurs clearly haven't for years now. So you look at the scouting and transfer team and ask why you spent 42 million on Sanchez, 30 million on Sissoko, 15 million on Doherty, 54 million on N'Dombele etc.

Anyone advocating the sale of Kane or Son, surely can’t be serious. The only way either should leave if either demand a transfer. And even then it should be on our terms. These two are the only two that should be safe. The rest should be playing from now to the end of the season for place in the squad.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Well said. We should be building around those two players. You don't win anything without world class talent

Dier - Sell

Winks - Sell with a heavy heart
Aurier - Sell
Doherty - Sell

I would Alli to that list, and if you tally up potential returns it is actually a sizeable sum
Sandy is using a sledgehammer to crush a nut but the basis of the argument he is making is correct.
I have used Thurs night as a perfect example of Kanes problem (missed 3 good chances) yet nobody on here has addressed this. Its all very well banging them in against WBA, Burnley or Palace but where was the goal when we just needed one to stay in the Europa and keep our CL qualification chances alive.
I hate this "he has to leave to win something" attitude. Why doesn't he stay with us and try to score the important goals that lead to us winning a trophy?
At the moment he could be considered a flat track bully.

This is a small blip in Kane's career. He has always scored against the big teams. He is one of the most lethal finishers the prem has ever seen for goodness sakes! His record is better than most. Compare his goals against top 6 teams to any other striker. He will be back on track soon

Notice how Sandy has gone over and above to slate Poch because he was popular with fans, and cozy up with Jose who is divisive? And now that things are going wrong for Jose, rather than extend the same criticism he did to Poch, he is turning to being way OTT on Kane - our best and most people’s favourite player.
A theme of someone positioning themselves as deliberately contrary in order to stir up trouble on here, blatant transparent wummery.

Ace I have always said that football is a results based business. Jose will get the sack if results don`t pick up.
Now stop posting porkies. I don`t slavisly support managers like you do, they come and go as do players. Jose is no different to any other Spurs manager, if he doesn`t get results, he will be sacked. Not quite sure why you don`t quite get that.
I have never cosied up to any manager, bar perhaps Billy Nicholson, but then he delivered big time. Every manager of Spurs if he doesn`t deliver, then deserves to be replaced. Same at any club.
As for Kane, of course I don`t want him to leave, but if he does, I wouldn`t be crying shed loads of tears like you and lots of others did when Poch left. I will just move on. Kane won`t be the last striker to ever play for Spurs.

Absolutely Pawl, some of our supporters are ridiculously naive, and hate it if you give an opposite view to what they do. Kane had plenty of chances midweek to score, so I don`t want to hear him moaning or his fanboys moaning about not winning trophies. Score some fecking goals when it matters, then perhaps you can win something.

Nonsense, Spurs have been building a team around Kane for six years now, and absolutely nothing has changed. Still getting knocked out of cup competitions by pub teams. Kane`s job is to score goals, which he does quite a lot, but it is also his job to score when it really matters, which he never does. Spurs needed just one goal midweek, Kane had three really decent chances, and missed all three. Those are the times he needs to score, not against the likes of Burnley, Sheffield United etc, in mainly meaningless Prem games that are not going to actually deliver a title in a million years.

Spurs strikers of the past Sandy Brown , Jimmy Dimmock, Duquemin, Bobby Smith, Greaves, Gilzean, Chivers, Crooks etc all have one thing in common, they all scored and delivered in big semi-finals and finals or to win titles. Kane hasn`t, and not like he has not had a few goes. He has gone missing in practically every semi and final he has played in.

Not at all mate. Merely saying that after six years, something drastic has to change. And as much as I like Kane, if he has to go to fund a rebuild of a project that has clearly failed, then I can live with that.
Nobody wants the best players to leave, but there comes a time, when changes have to happen, however painful it may be.
Selling Kane would be like punching yourself in the face to help you win a fight.

Well it probably does to Harry. But as I have said countless times, I do not support individuals. I support the club. Fine if he breaks lots of personal records, but if it doesn`t actually contribute to Spurs winning trophies, then I as a supporter, really could care less.
If say Spurs brought in a striker, and he scored goals that won even just one cup final, that would mean more than any player that had scored lots, but never actually contributed to winning silverware.

Would it? Haven`t Spurs sold countless top players over the years, and still survived. Football evolves. If it isn`t working, then you have to change it. Better if it could work with Kane of course, but sometimes you have to change direction completely.
Liverpool had Aguero, they sold him, and guess what they went on to win a title and the CL.
As I say players come and go, but the club remains.

Yet we haven't won a trophy since 2008 and our biggest achievement since he broke into the first team (reaching the CL final) was done when he was injured.
He hasn't delivered when it really matters and I don't see how anybody can say otherwise.
I don't want him to leave (unless stupid money is offered) but I do want to see some match winning performances/goals against the top teams that leads to silverware.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nonsense, Spurs have been building a team around Kane for six years now, and absolutely nothing has changed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The other day you were saying it means more for him to become spurs top scorer than win trophies. What has changed in a week?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What's changed is that Sandy has found a new angle to wind up his fellow fans about.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not at all mate.

Newcastle kept Shearer through all their struggles, they would have done a lot worse without him.
I don't recall their fans ever turning on him and somehow blaming their star player and club legend for not winning them a trophy.

Yes, I would love to keep Kane, but sometimes you have to change things around. Hand on heart do you think Spurs are going to win trophies with Kane over the next few years, with the current squad. The whole squad needs an overhaul, and that would include Kane.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a small blip in Kane's career. He has always scored against the big teams. He is one of the most lethal finishers the prem has ever seen for goodness sakes! His record is better than most. Compare his goals against top 6 teams to any other striker. He will be back on track soon
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet we haven't won a trophy since 2008 and our biggest achievement since he broke into the first team (reaching the CL final) was done when he was injured.
He hasn't delivered when it really matters and I don't see how anybody can say otherwise.
I don't want him to leave (unless stupid money is offered) but I do want to see some match winning performances/goals against the top teams that leads to silverware.
