Absolutely appaling I'm ashamed of ourr supporters.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wouldn't in any way define your support by that incident. Spurs have 100000s of supporters. It's inevitable just by statistics there will be some racist morons amongst them. Hopefully those responsible are banned, that's all you can ask of the club. The fact it provokes condemnation is what matters.

The culprit or culprits are caaants but this is a bit dramatic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not dramatic at all sorry but even if it's one person it's one person to many.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you would be ashamed of that supporter then and not ‘our supporters’
Using the phrase ‘our supporters’ seems to imply it’s a sizeable majority of Spurs fans
Not my implication no.... But its happened and can't be ignored.
I'll be honest and anyone that knows will testify that I'm not all that with social media and how it works I have accounts but bar FB I don't really use them as I'm not entirely sure what to so.
So if they are fake accounts/rogue people masquerading as spurs fans then I take it back but I'd also wager they aren't all rogue.

Big problem is a lot of these accounts are like bots or trolls living behind made up information and anonymous profiles.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But skysports and BBC feed the trolls. Difficult to just ignore abuse however.
I thought the recent report confirmed racism doesn't exist and it's more about class and family structure than skin colour.
Perhaps Sanchez is being racially abused because of family structure and class too, not skin colour

Society is starting to finally "see" what black people experience on a daily. And this is just low level racism. Structural/institutional racism is even more serious and will never change
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Partly because of constant denial of it's existence and constant rationalisation and excuses made. Look at the government appointing a panel of racism deniers to make a report that denies or reduces racism.
To be honest, even the argument on this thread about people doing it because it garners attention is just more denial and obfuscation, no offence intended to anyone.
I don't see it as a rational explanation that people do this stuff to draw attention to themselves. So basically, it's not really about the racism that they do it, it's about the attention they get from doing it? Just doesn't make sense to me and it's an argument that allows you to dismiss these incidents.

No, it doesn't. And nor do your other points above.
No big surprise that racism is rife in the country, when you have a Government that panders to the racists. At every turn they regularly bring racism into their agenda, knowing full well that it seen as a vote winner. They regularly tell us that we are being flooded with immigrants coming across the channel in small boats, when in fact it is so few, but they want it to be in the news constantly, because it fits perfectly into their agenda. The bring out a report on racism, no surprise it was commissioned by them, and the outcome was so predictable, but they want it to make headline news for days on end. The PM has often come out with racist tropes, but it is all a big joke, because it is only Boris.
Is it really any wonder that the racists are running rife right now, when you have a Government that actively encourages them, because they think it is a vote winner for them.
Who is the Caannntt that did it ?
So account with a random name and loads of numbers after it
Players racially abused last two or three months.
Marcus Rashford
Anthony Martial
Axel Tuanzebe
Fred
Reece James
Jude Bellingham
Sanchez
Callum Robinson
Jamal Lowe
Romaine Sawyers
Yan Dhanda
Ben Cabango
Rabbi Matondo
Glen Kamara
Off the top of my head. There has been only one arrest and that's in the case of Sawyers alone.
Why is it almost always Twitter and hardly any other site.
Facebook - Thats for old people
The others are just not that popular.
The only thing I can see in the future is people getting hit in the pockets and told if you want to stay on Social media then there is now a small fee. It will be masked as an attempt to crack down on abusers.

I don't use social media and don't even have a Facebook account therefore it's easy for me to not see this as a bad thing I guess. Paying for social media sounds a bit too much but having only verified accounts doesn't sound too irrational to me?
There's so many bots on Instagram especially that they never do anything about who comment on posts all the time wouldn't be surprised if these are the racist culprits too.

To be honest you only have to look at this site, and see the amount of insults, maybe not racial, but some very insulting behaviour goes on a regular basis, without any checks to know how easy it is for a faceless person to put up overtly racial stuff, without any comeback on lots of social media outlets.
