Apparently Jose refused to take training this morning in protest at the the super league news, hence the sacking.

Can’t help but be cynical with Mourinho and think this was the ideal opportunity for him to jump and enhance his reputation in some aspects by doing it.

Tottenham sacked Jose Mourinho after an explosive morning where he refused to take the squad onto the training ground over the club’s proposed European Super League admission. (Source:

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Also a feasible thing that could happen, which could explain the suddenness of this just before a final. Also could be media reports putting 2+2 togetherToo much going on
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Said on the other thread that it's classic Jose to martyr himself knowing that he's gone at the end of the season anyway

This can't be right. Robb told us all he had his mojo back after they won the October Cup?
Rosso just did the same thing. Sacrificed his online profile in protest at Uniteds signing up to the Super League.

Mourinho has been treated like dirt. Sacked a day after he secured Super League qualification.
I am done.
It couldn’t happen to a more deserving fellow.
If you think Jose downed tools cos of Esl. Then you can believe anything

You haven't got the memo.
This is about having a product to sell, not actual competition.
He wants to stay in London, next stop Brentford.
I wonder if its also due to the Bale situation.
If there’s no compensation then why was he sacked rather than resigned?
There is compensation, £16m due for him.

How fitting that, the day after the final nail was hammered into football's coffin

bit harsh, i'd argue that we play a better brand of football than burnley
