Tbf, I can hardly blame the owners, who have made losses in areas due to the pandemic, it seems like the best idea financially for them.

They've basically just said they want to reskin the Champions League, but not in the way UEFA want to. It is greed, but that's what football has been for 30 odd years now anyway. It's just the sheer amount of money in the game now because of commercial revenue. There may still be ways to get this money to filter down through the football pyramid in England.

You can't blame them as businessmen whose motivations are based on money and greed. This is what they're bound to do.

Unfortunately where bad handling of the pandemic situation might have caused them to be financially desperate, rather than face up to their own failings they want the get out of jail card. But that's only part of it. It's not just about digging themselves out of a hole, it's about getting out of it and then getting richer.

New CL format looks shiiite too
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You think? It seems a bit much but at least it’s a lot more inclusive than our current “big 5 fest”
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The spots for elite clubs that failed to qualify is obviously gross and if they're still planning on doing it as a league where you don't play every side than I just think that's a bit stupid
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don’t think I quite knew what I changed to. I thought it just allowed more clubs and changed the structuring a bit

The latter of your paragraph probably refers to Arsenal who have been in a mess for nearly a decade now, but this is there way back to competing again with the best clubs. You could even argue that with AC Milan.

UEFA have made a stance by saying they will be banned from all European and domestic leagues and cups. They need to stick to that notation for their own integrity. Unfortunately, I don't see how they can compete without these clubs really. It's all just about the money for them as well. They are hiding behind the "integrity of football" excuse just like the FA, when really it means less money in their pockets.

From the Guardian:

the decision to remove him was taken on Friday night, with the board “conscious of increasing fan and player unrest. Mourinho had basically lost almost the entire squad, bar a few who were keeping quiet.”

To be fair, I can't think of any players that would still be on his side. Maybe Son. He loved Kane but don't think Kane loved the footy we were playing.

What a total mess this season has been.

It’s not as if 99.9% of fans from all clubs didn’t know it would end up like this, it was so bloody obvious. Levy should be sacked for the grossest example of gross negligence you could ever imagine.
