Uninformed opinions

yeah point 1 is the biggest Sky propaganda that we would get bored playing Real Madrid every year. As you mention the LFC/Man U game is massive and look at the Old Firm who play each other 5-6 times in a season.

yes there are quite a few uninformed opinions circulating.

Evidently.

1) subjective
2) probably true
3) don't think you've understood what people mean when they say this
4 of course

On point one, you look forward to playing them because there are always narratives past the one layer of “to qualify for the next round”. They are rivals and depending on the season u can be even on points or one side better than the other.

I for one, have been begging to get Real Madrid and was bored of constantly getting Barca, or Liverpool in the 00s.

Add the fact that there is no competition in this thing and no repercussions such as a knock out two legged tie. Then yes it will get boring. So it is not nonsense at all and people are allowed that opinion.

Klopp, Pep, Gary Neville, Linekar et al... Uniformed...

Some tard on the internet... Has all the answers.

Not sure I agree with the points made in 1 and 3.

About playing the likes of Real Madrid every year... perhaps "boring" isn't the right word. Or it might be that "get boring" isn't the right phrase, as for a lot of people it will be boring to begin with. It's not the same as playing Liverpool and Arsenal twice a season. That's the domestic calendar, your "bread and butter". A lot of European football is about the thrill of the draw... who you get, who you hope and manage to avoid. Imagine if the FA Cup had the same draw and route to the final every season?

It won't be the end of football, and I will still follow, though with diminished interest. But for a lot of people, it will never "become the most prestigious trophy in club football" as the teams in it haven't really earned the right to be there. It's about exclusion and not inclusion.

UEFA trying to stop it is a good thing, even if they're doing it for the wrong reasons.

It's not nonsense or uninformed. It's just a different opinion to the OP who is painting himself as more intelligent than the rest.

There are repercussions. If you fail to win you don't make it to the next round, which is a knockout competition.

Would you care to tell the players in the 6 nations that their tournament has no competition in it because it is a closed shop, and they can just try again next year?

There was a preseason friendly few years ago against Real Madrid held in US, most of the supporters I know stayed up to watch it.
So people saying they would get bored of Real Madrid are in minority or lying to themselves.

It's the lack of merit that's the main issue for me.

Whilst it's always good to play the big boys of Europe it would become a bit less special if it was guaranteed. That's not the red line for me though.

Don’t really have an issue with the super league as a concept. The main problems people have with it are none on the OP though. It’s the criteria for entry and the allocation of funding, both of which pose a huge risk to the integrity of domestic leagues and also go against some of the key principles of the existing structure of competition in football.

The 6 nations is not a closed shop is it lol it’s recently
Become that and I’m sure if another international team wants to join locally then they will be allowed too. What a poor example you do know it was the 5 nations till recently?

Also there’s no repercussions at all. It’s a league where there’s no losers or winners

But all of those points are not really the big thing that most people have an issue with.

How about it has 15 clubs that will be guaranteed a place in the league based on the number of fans they have and what they have won previously? Does there even need to be any other points?

I know, and I respect the opinion of people who are against it. Personally I don’t care either. But there is an obvious misinformation campaign against the ESL. Led by Sky, FIFA and UEFA

Maybe the fact it was pre season, no others matches to watch and was a one off exhibition. Rather than playing them year on year on year in a meaningless competition. Again a weird comparison

This is not a pro ELS article ffs. I wanted to highlight the propaganda and misinformation campaign against it. I don’t give two sh#ts if it goes through or not

Why is it people get abusive at others just for having a different opinion?

posted on 20/4/21

The outcry against the ESL has been embarrassing tbh. Especially the blatantly self-serving stuff from UEFA, who are only annoyed because the CL will become essentially the Europa 2.0.

Not sure why the PL are bothered at all tbh. If anything it’s good for them to have 6/20 representatives.

2) Remains 14 PL members will vote to kick the big six out of PL

Never going to happen, most of the these clubs have inflated wage bills. Their survival depends on PL TV money. This will massively reduce if big six leave the PL. Most of these clubs will be bankrupted within a year if they push big six out of PL.

-------------------------------------------------------

All the clubs have inflated wage bills, not least all the 'big 6', hence this sh*thousery that has been done behind everyone's back for the benefit of the few. Seems it is these 6 teams that need the TV money much more than the other teams.

You make it sound like the bigger teams are actually doing the 14 other teams a favour by allowing them to play against them.

If it comes to pass that the PL can go ahead with just the 14 teams, what will the 'big 6' do for the rest of the year? Count their money?

Even not giving two shs means you are pro. Similar to if you weren’t bothered if someone was racially abused infront of you. We all need to act as clubs and fans to stop this

Have you just written a thread about uninformed opinions and then given your opinion?
