I've never got flags out apart from during international football tournaments, and even then it would just be those little ones you attach to the car. Nothing wrong with showing a little bit of national pride.

Shame there’s f*ck all to be proud of these days. The last half decent thing this country did was the 2012 Olympics.

Willy waving flags of any nationality is for Nationalistic fanatics. I am just glad to be a member of planet earth. I don`t need to keep waving a flag on certain days of the year, to make out like I am better than any other human being.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I would say that's a pretty bad take on patriotism as a whole. I've never seen it as a problem for people all over the world to celebrate their own country and join in celebrating other people's culture identity. etc. I actually think it's quite healthy. It's natural for humans to have a sense of familiarity and connection to the place they are born. You can love your own country and you can love other country's too. No issue with that at all.

Happy St. Georges Day
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Couldn’t agree more. I personally don’t celebrate it and wave flags around myself, but I have absolutely no issue whatsoever with people being people of their country. Everyone celebrates St Paddy’s day and the Irish are proud. Americans have their flags plastered all over the streets in the US, they are proud. Why is it so frowned upon when English people are proud? I can only guess it’s the far left liberal lunatics that are the only ones who can’t stand it and despise the country they are from.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm like you Don, I've never got the flags out. That's just a personal choice. I certainly wouldn't knock people for doing it.

Don't let scuumbag politicians use racist scuumbag hooligans to ruin it for other people. I try to have a more positive then negative outlook on life, but to me that's just common sense.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who says it’s frowned upon?

Right wingers and their f*cking victim complex is so tedious.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm not left or right. I don't pin my political colours to any mast. It's easy for me to call out the BS on both sides.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yep I’m exactly the same. I’m not far right either, but I can’t stand what the far left represent. Full of hate and self hatred. Full of assumptions and making one feel guilty about national pride. There’s a prime example of what I’m on about, sizzle the clown calling anyone that doesn’t listen to his warped views as right wing.

Your call fella. You can celebrate what and when you like. Just not for me though. I don`t have to wave a flag to prove I am English. If it makes you feel better then fair enough.

I didn`t wake up today thinking it is St George`s Day, so I need to start waving flags. For what it is worth I hate the nonsense of St Patrick`s Day as well. A day where loads of people just go out and get as drunk as they can. What is patriotic about that?

Anyone actually seen any of these fabled Woke Police anywhere? They must be like the facking Stasi because I’ve never actually seen one.

They also appear to be incredibly ineffective, because all of these things they’re supposed to be preventing from happening appear to be continuing to happen as they’ve always done.

Christmas? Yep.
St. George’s Day? Yep.
Casual racism? Yep.
