This is interesting - in the last two windows he has overseen 15 departures and 12 incomings with a net spend of -£43m. He has made a profit and sold the likes of Ziyech, De Beek, Dest, Promes, Veltman and Huuntelaar.

Before them De Ligt and De Jong. I haven't heard too much of players he has brought except for Haller from West Ham but they are currently 12 points clear of the dutch league.

He will do for me.

Could be a great manager but I will always have doubts because of the club and league he's managing in. We know FDB has found little success outside of Ajax and he won 4 titles there. I would have him over Parker and Mason though.

I like the fact he has overseen a huge transition in the squad and still come out on top. On paper he has ticked a huge box.

That is a bonus. Good win percentages at clubs as well. Almost 10% higher win percentage than FDB at Ajax. Not the worst option but a riskier one than others IMO.

When you look at the names available who have a low buyout clause they are all risky. Allegri would only cost wages but been out of work for ages. He is a huge risk.

Rodgers is out of our reach and will be in the CL next season. We are a step down.

I actually think we will do well to get Haag.

The new manager will have to work with a sell to buy policy. There will be very little or nothing of funds available.

Nagelsmann has no ambition clearly. Could have come Spurs, one of the big ESL teams, but decides to go to one of the lesser clubs that weren't part of it. His loss.

As if Nagelsmann was going to come to Spurs with our fickle fanbase. A few losses and everybody would have been on his back.

I don't expect Spurs to go out and spend loads, but I reckon there will easily be 30-50 million without sales, which is more than a lot of decent clubs overseas have.... but that ties into my point. If Kane asks to leave, all of a sudden a manager could have 100-150 million to spend in the summer, and you then factor that in to your decision and direction the club goes in over the next couple of years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who is gonna spend £100m+ on one player this summer? I can't see anyone. Next summer maybe but not this one. Plus Kane will cost £140m minimum.

I'm prepared for us to finish mid-table with a new manager after any upheaval to the squad, but as long as there is some degree of progress going on then I will accept the wait.

Doubt any manager at the top of his game would come to us right now without the prospect of huge funds to improve the team.
Why would they come and damage their reputation.
We want to compete with the likes of City. Chelsea etc but continue to scout and spend poorly.
Huge clear out and revamp of scouting network needed..
We need someone willing to establish a brand of play throughout the entire club and fans should also understand its a project that will take a few years to materialise.

City and PSG would. Real have Mbappe as first choice but if he signs a new deal with PSG and Kane has a decent Euros, I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a move.... they'll be doing a bit of business with outgoings too which may free up some money.
I know the pandemic has hurt clubs financially, but outside of Barca and Juve, I genuinely don't think you'll see too much difference in terms of having money to spend this summer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Both City and PSG might have budgets more than £100m but I doubt they would spend that on a fee for one player alone. Same goes for Chelsea who have a reported budget of £200m this summer.

Real are up to their eyeballs in debt. It would be crazy if they spent that amount but possible if they sold a few players I guess...They are the only club capable if spending more than £100m on one player but this summer in the current climate with all their debt? Only they could get away with it.
