Look at Arteta. They sit below Leeds FFS. They are boring and ineffective and the lowest scorers in the top 11.

And yet we're still the FA Cup holders. In fact we've won 4 of them in a decade where the media have comparatively lauded Spurs and treated us as a laughing stock.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Being 10th is the key to Arsenal being a laughing stock.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And what about being in Europe for 26 years running..........but never actually winning anything in each of those years. Suppose unfair to talk negatively about that that eh ?
Still you did won the FA Cup last year, so all is well and you remain untouchable for about another 10 years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------Oh Sandy you're so pathetic, we'd all give our left nut to have had the success Arsenal have had recently ie the numerous FA cups.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah agreed, but what about their league form which surely is the main thing clubs should be judged on. We have finished above them for 4, probably 5 years including this year. It's now become a given with most Spurs fans. If you go back even 6/7 years, Spurs were consistently behind Arsenal. So who has progressed ( or gone backwards ) the most out of these two ? if you listen to the media / pundits, it is Spurs with all the problems. How do you justify that ?

Interesting that agin you didn’t deny being Sandy, but anyway what does the saying on our badge translate to? To do is to dare, so surely winning trophies is better than just finishing above a local rival?

It is quite notable how much grief Spurs get in the media.

Look at Everton. They have spent over £0.5bn on players since their new owners came in.

What have they achieved. What has the world renowned manager achieved . Have they made it to any finals?

Despite boring Jose, boring the footballing world to death with his boring tactics, Spurs have comfortably outscored Everton and lets face it, we've had a shocker of a season but still sit above them

Where's the character assassination of Everton's manager, their owners, the club?

We get to a final, we lose in difficult circumstances against a team that has won two thirds of every domestic trophy over the last 4 years, having spent billions, and we're slated.

While none of us are happy with it, at least we're getting to finals, but the media and lazy pundits use this as something to beat us with.

Look at Arteta. They sit below Leeds FFS. They are boring and ineffective and the lowest scorers in the top 11.

Spurs make it easy for them to be picked on but actually, Spurs are a very well run club that has made great strides to elevate themselves without the billions of their owners, has built an amazing stadium and dragged themselves up financially to match their London piers.

We should be praised in the media for how we operate and in that it should be acknowledged and put in to context of the massive advantage other clubs have. Instead City are fawned all over by pundits/media for achieving something that any club could have achieved if their billionaire owners had decided to buy them instead of City.

We deserve criticism but it seems to be a favourite hobby for some of these media gobsheites who love the sound of their whiney, barely intelligible voice.

for the money theyve spent on transfers and wages Everton have been terrible. Ancelotti is way past his best and enjoying a nice pension top up from the clueless owner.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet Everton have spent less than spurs since Ancelotti arrived, beat you twice, drew once and are a point behind with a game in hand, this season. Everton have spammed cash all over the place since Moshiri has taken over, often badly, still in a very similar situation as spurs though.

I agree with this. How Everton have got away with it, I'm not sure. The money they have spent recently is outrageous and surely questions should be asked of why they're not pushing for more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That just comes down to Everton not being one of the big clubs and therefore not receiving the same attention that a club like Spurs get. The media will, rightly or wrongly, gravitate to the big clubs and give them press. Everton have been a mid-table club for the majority of the last 20 years living in the shadow of the bigger clubs. I'm not trying to be disrespectful I'm just saying that's why they don't garner the same criticism. They simply aren't as big a story.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The biggest takeaway from this thread, to me at least is, spurs fans have a wildly inflated opinion if the club. Why, I have no idea, you're very rarely mentioned in the media, I get that every teams fans are partisan but nobody outside of spurs fans and I'm guessing some arsenal fans care, at all.
