At least he’s done a good job of getting someone to write a letter for him. Shame he doesn’t employ the right people when it comes to running the football club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which does beggar belief when you think about it.
How can owners of a big succesful business not employ the right people to do the right jobs for one of your big cash cows?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because they haven’t a clue about football. Nor do they care much for it that the degradation of the club impacts them.

Have to ever considered ther is more to run nong a club like U it'd than we release and maybe Ed did a better job than we know/ give him credit for?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The owners turned a blind eye to the bad management of the club for many years.
Ed was the king of money making for us, and that's one of the reasons why they left us to fend for ourselves while taking money off us.

It was always public knowledge of their lack of love/genuine interest in the traditions and runnning of this club.
The only positive out of this mess is that the owners are now realising that the fans could create a ripple effect if they don't try to 'act' now.
But i personally do not believe they will change their ways.

hasn't even done that good a job financially - as a quick glance at the accounts/share price would confirm - since taking the big job
Actions speak louder than words.
I see RDD is still defending his hero Ed
To all who think this is a good move, imagine Joel Glazer's face reading that letter to you.
Sorry Joel. It doesn't wash with us. Feck off back to where you belong. You're not welcome anymore.
Disruption isnt going to stop until we get them out.
Glazer 5cum out.
If the only two options are Glazers staying and changing nothing and Glazers staying and honouring the pledges in the letter then I'm afraid I'd have to plump for the latter no matter how much I don't like it.
Sometimes we don't get exactly what we want but a move to realising what we do want is a small step in the right direction IMO.

That's giving in.
If they had a single shred of sincerity they'd pay off the debt. Even if not in one swoop they could pay off 100m or so as a gesture of good will.
Will they? Will they balls 😂
More games are getting called off. More disruption coming. It's not good enough. 16 years of false dawns and money being hemorrhaged out of us.
One Glazer down....a few more to go.
The letter itself is fine, could have easily just filled a few paragraphs of false praise and platitudes, bit sure they will sell and if not actions will speak louder than words with the fans involvement, improvements to OT and Carrington but mostly the possible signings to allow Ole to try and take the team forward

There may exist a reality in the multiverse where the Glazers stumble upon a winning formula. Woodward’s replacement may not be nearly as bad at his job.
But unfortunately I still don’t think that we would be exploiting our sporting potential to its best. And the moves they’ve made with project big picture and the super league have made things extremely difficult for fans to forgive their utter contempt for this sport.

I absolutely think that the pressure must be kept on them but the Glazers being slightly less crap owners is better than them being crap owners if there's no alternative.
I'd still advocate protests this week though just to give them the message that MUCH more needs to be done rather than just a letter.

I'm also a realist though and I think it'll take much more pressure on them for them to buckle. We should keep going and hope for more concessions from them.
If they are to remain as owners then it's in our best interests that they improve. And fast. It'll be too late in many people's eyes though and that I can well understand. It will seem hollow until actions, rather than words, are the order of the day. I do think it's a win for the protest though even if the letter hasn't been written by them. They've taken notice and that letter is now on record.
The debt gives the club huge tax breaks, from what I’ve read. Like huge to the point that it’s actually better to pay off interest and debt repayments than it is to clear it.
