#thfc are in pole position to sign Olympique Lyonnais defender Joachim Andersen. He is expected to move for £20M. | @TelegraphSport
Good deal and good player. Defo upgrade on Sanchez/Dier. Him with Toby or Rodon would be good.

Blimey! Nice to see Daniel Levy is paying attention to my advice on 606
He's the right profile of player. We need to get back to polishing rough gems rather than trying to compete for the best. We will never win that fight.
Not sure about Andersen, think he would have been excellent under J*se but in a more attacking side I'm a little skeptical about him defending in a high line, he's quite slow on the turn because of his frame.
His ball progression too is done more through long passing, which is nice obviously but I think what we're really missing is Vert's ball carrying and line breaking passes from deep.
He's an aerial monster though, one of the best in the League. And he seems like a big character. We lack both of those things clearly
I said yesterday that it'd be a bit of a Højbjerg signing where it's a definite improvement but also you feel like you'll have to improve on him too sooner rather than later.
I think maybe the athletic or Alasdair gold said the other day that we want to bring in 2 CBs so if we get someone else in too it'd be a good move

What have you seen in the handful of games Rodon has played in for you to rate him Sandy?
It's also worth mentioning that based on that Europa League first leg semi, Foyth is worth giving another chance. He was brilliant against Arsenal at RB (or right of a three at the back). I'm not sure we should be flogging him and certainly not for 8 mill. Have we got an agreement already in place for Foyth? If they have an option on signing him can we just say no and take him back? He's miles better than both our full back options at the moment.
€15m buy option
If they trigger it there's nothing we can do, it's up to Foyth

I don't think Toby had much pace when he joined and was up there as one of our best players. He was also famed for his long, raking passes up to Alli. He didn't turn out too bad did he?!
Take into account that although Fulham have gone down, they've played a possession game with a relatively high line for much of the season. For me he looks composed on the ball, is rarely caught out positionally and has an eye for a pass. Plus he seems a leader to me. If we don't get him, someone else will. I think he has all the attributes to make it big in the Prem. To not want a player like that when he's in our price range and in a position we're desperate for improvement in is crazy. each to their own though. Who would you sign at CB then that's within our budget then Christopher?

completely forgot about him when doing my thing
Sadly... we have a lot of underachieving, mistake ridden players at Spurs...
The most obvious deficiencies lay in defence... the RB & CB positions...
Aurier & Dohery are useless... the both need to go... absolutely no point in offering Aurier a new contract.
Bring a new right back in, have Tanganga as back up...
We need 2 new CB’s that’s blatantly obvious.... so Dier & Sanchez need to go...
Sissoko is no use any more
Winks is just useless
Dele Ali needs to go... whilst we can still get decent money for him...
We need to create a new hungry, dynamic team again... you can’t do so with the players I’ve just mentioned...
I can’t believe anyone would want to keep any of the players, I’ve just mentioned... surely not?!!

Are you taking the pizzle with some of those valuations? They're worth way more than that Devonshire. The only realistic prices are the ones for Kane and Son. Sure the defence hasn't performed great but you've dropped their prices to around Championship level.
Anyway, first signing I'd make is Joachim Andersen from Fulham. He's just been relegated so he should be cheap but he looks to me like a really cultured centre half. Those the types I think we should be signing, rough diamonds. Similar to when got Toby from A Madrid / Southampton.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The values i put on them are not the point of this, but in a season and a bit where clubs have lost 125% of their matchday revenue do you really think that clubs who may pick up some of our outgoings are going to be the seriously weathly ones who can shrug off massive loss of revenue OR the mid table weaker league teams whose entire transfer budget for the next 2 years has just been wiped out by no matchday revenue for 1 1/4 seasons.
Good call on Andersen. Liked the look of him.
Gotta feel sorry for those going down this year after coming up....the big windfall of promotion would have been hit hard by covid and now they're heading back down again.

He has also played DM as well as center back too. Could be worth keeping. Pretty sure I read Villareal will struggle to raise the funds to buy him which could work in our favour. He can't do no worse than Doherty.
Exactly - we already have players who can progress the ball with long passing. What we need is what Vert's gave us, someone comfortable carrying the ball into midfield and playing passes low between the lines.
Badiashile was the CB I put for this exercise but there are a few PL CBs I'd take like White and Webster at Brighton.
I wouldn't be upset at all if we signed Andersen for the record, wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be great for us. Centre backs are probably the hardest position to evaluate

Always liked Foyth. Just too small for a CB in this league and is he really a decent RB or DM cover? May be one of 3 CBs he could work well, he's probably our best CB in possession.

He was light weight when he was with us hence why people thought he was shilt. I think had he been sold last summer no one would have really been bothered. I'm not sure if he has improved enough in the last year to make it in the prem week in week out, but as stated before he can't do no worse than Doherty. Glad he has played DM under Emery as I always thought that would be his best position given his frame.

he needed to be loaned out straight away but Poch was terrible at the loaning thing
His lack of height coupled with good pace makes him a good RB for me. The fact that he can cover so many positions is another reason why we need him. Emery has made the right call with him. I remember him playing RB for us a while back against Bournemouth away. He was having a brilliant game but he made one daft decision and got sent off for it. I saw enough to know he could do it in the Prem though. He needs another chance.
