Well if he isn`t, then Doherty can take his place. May give him some confidence to know he will get a run in the side.
Call me blindly optimistic, but honest - Sandy, looking at the team you’ve listed there I reckon there’s every chance we could avoid relegation.

Do you think Potter ` s the man to turn it around for spurs sandy?
I would rather have no European football than be in the new Estonian carpet fitters cup.

I think we are in for some lean years. As an older supporter, this now feels like the mid 1970s, when a team that won a trophy in 1971, 1972, 1973 was gradually going downhill and broken up and a season of nearly relegation was avoided, only to come a season or two later. This could very well happy again. But Spurs rebuilt late 1970s and built a great side that would go on to win more trophies. The same could certainly happen again.

Not short term, but he could be our new Keith Burkenshaw, who came in, Spurs were relegated, then promoted, and then went on to win a few trophies, including a European one. Football is cyclical, so if the same happens again, I would not be overly worried.

The only upside is that Spurs will at long last being playing on a Saturday at 3pm. Problem is the team that will be playing will be absolute rubbish.
Why would we cut almost half of our 25 man squad?
Saying that, I think we'd all be more forgiving seeing some effort put in from Skipp, Scarlett, Parrot, White, Tanganga, Sessegnon etc in a weekly basis even if made for a turbulent season.
(and Davies gets a really rough ride from fans cause he's always back up to more 'exciting' left backs, but is always pretty solid and plays with far more desire to win than most in our squad)

Because Spurs will only be playing one game a week for most of the season. Why would you need 25 men just to play Prem games once a week. With no European football, most of them will not see the light of day.
So next seasons line up could look like this
Lloris (if he signs a new contract)
Aurier
Rodon
Sanchez
Davies
Hojberg
Lo Celso
New CM
Son
Bergwijn
New Striker
————
I really hope not. That team would be about 15th

Because if you cut half of 25, you have a first 11, and given our capability of treating injuries, some might just be a little concerned we're leaving ourselves a touch short...

Palmers, I think that is what we will be looking at now for a season or two, with a complete rebuild needed. It must be obvious that most of the current squad are done. But it will take three or four seasons to out them all.

Spurs need about 16/17 players of first team quality, then fill out the squad with youngsters.
The time now is right for a proper rebuild; no European football seems likely, a new manager needed, and our star player is wanting to leave. The club is low on money and sadly Kane is the one way with which to fund the team.
ENIC and Levy have now seen a great team come and go without winning a thing, and that is on their heads. They have to try to redeem themselves from this point onwards. This season is the biggest wake up call these caants have had as to how they're running of the club isn't working.

Look whilst ENIC may be partly to blame, the players have to shoulder most of it. They have completely failed to turn up when it ever matters. They are spineless and gutless. Until you change the players, nothing is changing.
The thing is that whether I like Kane, Hugo, Dier, Toby, Dele, Davies, Winks, Son and Lamela or not they have all been at the club for a while and are synonymous with failure.
Probably best to consider this era passed and press the reset button.
