Liverpool were top at Christmas and ended the season behind a P.E teacher, that’s really poor.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah but one guy hurt his knee
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So they decided to play their entire midfield at CB whereupon things went seriously tiiits up, until someone decided playing actual CB’s there, albeit 23rd & 24th choice ones, and things improved, masterstroke really
----------------------------------------------------------------------
After injuries to our first three defenders, put out for the season, we decided to play our fourth choice, who was Fabinho, having signed Thiago. He then got put out injured so we brought in an 18 year old, who last season played in the conference. He made a couple of errors and was taken out, with Henderson going in. Unfortunately he got put out for the season. In the meantime we'd brought Phillips back from loan, who had also made a few errors and been taken out, since you have to protect young players. We also brought in Kabak, who then got injured. Phillips was reintroduced alongside Kabak and performed and therefore kept his place, even after Kabak got injured, when Williams came back in and also performed.
It worked, could have been a catastrophic season but Klopp did a great job protecting his young defenders, until the time was ready to put them back in, for Liverpool to become the form team in the league, bouncing from 8th to 3rd.
Many teams after such issues would crumble and finish 7th, like United did with similar issues with injuries, after they won their last title. Fortunately we had a great manager to manage the situation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
had nothing to do with Injuries.. it had to do with an aging squad, average players, a clueless manager and signings like fellaini
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Aging squad, clueless manager, average players
Our aging squad has an average age of 26. The average players and manager just won the CL and PL back to back and were touching 100 points two seasons in a row before the crazy injury list occurred.

How do you think United will fare once things are back to normal with the stadiums full of fans? It’s been suggested previously that United’s players have struggled with the pressure of the crowd at OT. So you could argue that no crowds have played United’s favour and their position is a false one.

I think they will do well.

Dunno, '52, these players have never really played before a crowd in their careers, they'll be terrified

In the three seasons before COVID had any influence, United finished higher up the table with their away form than they did with their home, in two of those seasons. So it’s not without foundation, is it?

Our first three central defenders who were put out for the season managed 22 games between them. Yours 54. There's no comparison here. Also spread out, ours were all out for the season from December or something.
Jesus, it's like people can't look at context.
18/19.....
Home form 6th best, away form 4th best.
17/18.....
Home 3rd, away 3rd
16/17....
Home 7th, away 3rd.
I find it very interesting that VvD & other defenders being injured means that only one of your front 3 can actually put the ball in the net.
And don't go giving me that 'we can't play high up with sub-sub-sub CBs' coz it's bollox. Mane had almost 20 more shots this season, finished with a far worse goals per game ratio & had the same number of shots on target, despite having far more efforts.
Not doing this for the rest of em, but you went through a sheite patch coz of you over-reliance on your front 3, who couldn't hit a barn door for a while.

So nothing to do with our three first choice CB’s missing most of the season? Ok....
Please tell me why your defenders being out meant that Mane couldn't score, despite shooting more.
its like a game of kerplunk on here with all the pulling at straws from the scousers
I can just see Ole being called into the boardroom and being told “sorry Ole, we’re going to have to let you go, someone called GTW14T doesn’t take you seriously, and we can’t be having that

Also, you conceded 9 more goals this season than last, which considering one of those games you conceded 7 of them, suggests that your defence being injured is not the leading cause of you dropping points
Any man who makes his own clothes deserves respect
the funny thing is Liverpools defensive record is actually better than ours.. in fact its the 4th best in the league.
the fact is mane has been poor compared to last season and they have a cf who's pathway to goal seems to be blinded by his own ridiculous teeth

In 2009/10 we finished 2nd on 85 points (Chelsea won on 86) having conceded 28 goals:
These are the appearances for our GK and defence. As you can see only Evra was a regular for one reason or another.
VDS – 21
Ferdinand – 12
Brown – 18
Vidic – 24
O’Shea – 12
Evans – 18
Neville – 15
Evra - 37
Foster - 9
Tomasz Kuszczak - 8
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Our first three central defenders who were put out for the season managed 22 games between them. Yours 54. There's no comparison here. Also spread out, ours were all out for the season from December or something.
Jesus, it's like people can't look at context.

Liverpool were top at Christmas and ended the season behind a P.E teacher, that’s really poor.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah but one guy hurt his knee
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If only they had a designated time period in the season to exchange money for players. Grrr.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If only, then United wouldn't be a relic, going years without a league title.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
ffs... one league title in 30 years
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah you can bang on about distant history all you want but you haven't won a league title in 9 years, or the CL in 13 years. L'Ole is hardly going to change that is he?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
lets be honest here TOOR... as it stands you are up there with Blackburn and Leicester.. until you do it again, when it comes to the pl league youre nothing but a flash in the pan club... hardly in a position to give it the billy big b0ll0x
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Stop going on about distant history son. If you wanna talk history, then respect the most successful club in the country.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
including charity shields ( simply because you guys were celebrating the world club championship and supercup wins like they were real trophies) we are currently 4 ahead of you... 5 if we win wednesday

So nothing to do with our three first choice CB’s missing most of the season? Ok....

Please tell me why your defenders being out meant that Mane couldn't score, despite shooting more.

I can just see Ole being called into the boardroom and being told “sorry Ole, we’re going to have to let you go, someone called GTW14T doesn’t take you seriously, and we can’t be having that

Also, you conceded 9 more goals this season than last, which considering one of those games you conceded 7 of them, suggests that your defence being injured is not the leading cause of you dropping points

the funny thing is Liverpools defensive record is actually better than ours.. in fact its the 4th best in the league.
the fact is mane has been poor compared to last season and they have a cf who's pathway to goal seems to be blinded by his own ridiculous teeth

Leicester fans can still remember what a league title feels like, unlike United fans as its been so long. 10 year anniversary coming soon. Ole on the wheel.
