Doesn't seem as though any knowledge of FIFA is necessary, looking at a site like Marky suggested will give you all the ratings and will then just be a case of checking their TM values. Doesn't seem too taxing.

Cut and paste works to a degree, but then the better managers will see how you play and tailor their tactics accordingly.

Oh I can imagine there's definitely a skill to it once you've played a few games and can see the affects of increasing the speed of build up play, aggression ect

No.

The current league started as a voting league, and then we decided to try FIFA in season 2 to give it a try.

As long as it worked well, we always planned to start a league from scratch, from a low base and build. There was a gap between season 2 and FIFA 19 coming out, so we decided to do one more shorter season to bridge the gap.

Plan is to switch to the new FIFA each year (probably only between seasons to keep it clean), but not reboot.

We have youth squads, so you will be able to buy youngsters now, with low ratings who might then be superstars in future versions (forever known as the Mbappe effect)

How do you guys decide results?

We used to have votes, and one of my frustrations was having to do votes each week. Found it really boring and just led to arguments. FIFA has solved this and I can't recall one argument since we switched

We use a randomiser, using tokens to signify strength, essentially. Tokens are given for home advantage, squad strength, quality of tactics etc, then they're put into the randomiser along with the draw tokens. I tend to spin the wheel 3 times. 5 if I have the time, and pick the majority name that pops up. Kind of similar to how judges work in combat sports

Team 4 slots
Subs 2 slots
Home defensive tactics vs away attacking tactics 3 slots
Away defensive tactics vs home attacking tactics 3 slots
Game plan tactics 3 slots
Draw 1-5 (depending on likelihood of draw)

Looks like my main fight this season is with Wolves for 7th

Of course, my fixtures between week 9 and 13 are appalling. Only game I could see a win without being deluded is a tough away game against Villa.
