Not really. Just signing players I like

ok wouldn't mind Fekir at either club if you see anything we could work on, even a 2;1 in your favour

Aouar would be the player I'm most interested in

Don't really need him, well stocked in terms of more defence-minded CMs

ok I wouldn't use Aouar then sorry

what about Villa if he is the only one at Chelsea that you want

Vissel Kobe going to have Villa, Iniesta and Podolski. Would have been a good attacking set of players in their prime!

Mourinho is mad stupid Saying Utd can’t sign Spurs best players yet signed Everton’s and Arsenal’s in last year and a half. Never mind one of Juves best players.

Then saying it takes time to implement a policy where you could sign and develop a Rooney or Ronaldo

I don't think they'd be able to sign a Spurs player, not one of their top ones anyway

posted on 1/12/18

That’s missing the point. United back then wouldn’t have been able to sign say Thierry Henry, Arsenal’s best player. Yet they signed Sanchez who was their best player.

posted on 1/12/18

Who wanted out? Equally Henry was in an Arsenal side challenging for and winning titles, Sanchez wasn't and wants the same thing all South American players want, money.

As in back then Spurs weren’t powerful club but now Arsenal aren’t like they were then?

posted on 1/12/18

As in Arsenal aren’t quite the attraction they used to be, no.

posted on 1/12/18

Exactly... which is why it’s stupid to bleat on like things have changed solely using Spurs as an example

As they’ve effectively swapped places with Arsenal. So no real change

posted on 1/12/18

Pretty sure his point was to contrast the change in positions between United and Spurs

posted on 1/12/18

Why would Jose specifically compare them. He was trying to say things have changed since 2000s. Obv they’ve fallen since then, partly Jose’s fault

I love his plight as much as anyone, maybe even more, but I don't see the issue with what he said. Tottenham being one of the top clubs and United being a club that are struggling to meet demands is a huge change, it used to be the other way round. Makes sense to contrast them, think its a good example too, given that United under SAF bought a couple of Tottenham's best players

Don't think it was as much about their success as the financial power each club has now - how the increased funding in the English game especially means there aren't really any selling clubs anymore, and smaller clubs can hold bigger ones to ransom for their biggest players.

Still, away to Southampton and only 2 attackers. That is funny!

posted on 1/12/18

Exactly ska. Except Uniteds wage bill is still far higher and Spurs don’t spend big ever.

He has spent big signing from two top clubs Arsenal and Juve. It’s a stupid point
