Tranquil's point does stand, his performances for Germany would suggest he's up their with the best players in Europe. His performances for club wouldn't suggest he's as good as that.
He's a good player but I have a feeling RVP will leave, rumours picking up very quickly, if that happens need a much better player than padolski in the summer

Kalou has a Brazilian nickname and is unbeaten this season
does that include the season where cologne were in the 2nd divison and he scored for fun, as from what i calculated, his record with them in the top division isnt far off 1 in 3

And we will see whether he is any better than Marin, Marin has 3rd amount of assists in bundesliga over last 3-4 seasons which is pretty incredible. Completely different jobs and Marin does his just as well as Podolski does
