im happy to have AVB despite some of his failings at chelsea he wasnt given alot of time

I think its silly to say he wasn't putting the effort in. Obviously other things come into account like the system/tactics, mood etc. If he's not enjoying training and methods being used in a system that he doesn't like, he's not simply going to be able to play well by putting in the effort.

although i disagreed massively with his sacking, looking back in hindsight it was the right thing to do, if hed have stayed we probably wouldnt have got europe at all, wouldnt have won the biggest club competition and wouldnt be in a position to get some of the players we had, others would have left so wed be in a terrible position. Plus Di Matteo clearly has the respect of all the players which, due to banishing alex and anelka, AVB didnt. He even stopped them going to the christmas meal which is just ridiculously childish tbh

Di Matteo fits us much better atm, AVB will probably do better at spurs though as long as he doesnt do the things he did to Alex and Anelka

spurs dont really rely on old players like chelsea - friedal the only old starter and looks like we want a new keeper anyway

Renegade he really didnt put any effort in though, he was playing as the midfielder getting forward, the role hes always liked but because he didnt play week in week out he wasnt happy, which was clear to see in interviews.

dont think its any coincidence that when avb went lampard was suddenly back to being one of our key players, despite being put in a role that he had never favoured before

It wasnt just old players though Luka, he wouldnt speak to anyone personally, Lukaku said he'd refused to talk to him privately and give him tips on how he needed to improve, he clearly never spoke to Torres and would send him out to warm up only to bring someone crap like Malouda on despite him having an awful season

tbh the only players that he actually didnt do any harm to were Romeu and Mata

And Cech

Think its far too simplistic to say he wasn't putting in effort. Its a statement that could be true, but you could never prove it and personally can't a gree.

Could be wrong but despite a poor start to the season pretty sure Lampard had a good run of form after that under AVB.

Well no he made Cech look terrible by playing the highest defensive line you can imagine, so Cech was having to make on ones all the time lol

Renegade Lampard started well, had the spell where he got a hattrick v Bolton but that was fairly early, it got worse and worse really, definitely think he could have tried much much harder

I disagree about the effort really.

Also think the fact he was in and out of the team a lot its impossible for him to be at the level of fitness to perform when he was called upon. Add in all the talk about him in the media, obviously lack of control in dressing room by AVB then I don't think he was ever going to be able to enjoy his football.

Just think its far too simplistic to say its down to effort.

was reading the season previews from last year that doc did... the league has changed so much in one year

Queens Park Rangers:

Gaffer: Neil Warnock (Care Taker Manager)

Key Man: Antonio Cassano - Cassano may be a bit crazy and coming to the end of his career but hes still got it. He will be a crucial player this season for QPR.

Point To Prove: Fabian Delph - A couple of years Fabian was being labelled the next best centre midfielder in England. After an ACL injury put him out for 6 months he has struggled to get first team football. This season he has to prove he is still that same player a couple of years back.

One To Watch: Jean Makoun - QPR fans will hope Jean will have adjusted to the English league because if he has, QPR will have a top quality midfielder in their team who can defend, attack and has a great range of passing.

League Table Prediction: 16th - If they get a manager in they will finish higher, they have a great team and have builded a mid table team like the rest of the promoted teams in a week.

Doc predicted United to finish 8th last season, so not bad getting 6th. Brum predicted 5th but title winners! Other than he got most of it pretty right
