Right now he is better than De Gea, that's a mistake a game now. I do think he'll become the better keeper though just needs time

Redknapp saying Modric asked not too play before the game, can see him leaving now, thought he wouldn't but it looks a bit more likely.

He's blaming Chelsea for it though when it's him who goes on about it all the time lol

Manchester United v West Ham United
Another game with two teams looking to get back to what they once were. Having fallen down to 6th Man Utd were looking to rebuild for a brighter future, while West Ham had survived Relegation and were looking to build on that. Man Utd looked to get on the ball early on and play it around and they created the first opportunity when Lampard played it out to the advancing Rafael who whipped in the cross that Forlan headed goalwards with Sirigu turning it round the post for a corner, which was cleared. West Ham started to work hard in the middle though with Van Bommel, Medel and Motta working hard to close all the space down and Man Utd began to struggle to make space for themselves. The next chance went to West Ham when Alvaro Perriera put in a long cross that Lisandro met heading down for Valbuena to fire goalwards with Buffon forced into a save. The game was starting to turn into a battle in midfield with West Ham dominating it and they were putting on all the pressure but Man Utds back line was staying strong and on the counter they nearly took the lead when Gibbs burst forward and found Forlan who flicked a ball round the corner for Lampard but in came Lugano to block the shot. The first goal in the game went to West Ham though, Maxi Perriera being sent clear down the right by Motta and his cross was met by Lisandro to give West Ham the lead. Man Utd began to have more chances towards the end of the half, first an immaculate tackle from Mussachio stopping Forlan from shooting before Arshavin smacked the bar with the rebound. West Ham held on though. The second half saw Man Utd speed the game up though and they were straight away looking to get back on level terms with Forlan drifting out wide and finding Lampard in the box but his shot was saved by Sirigu. Arshavin tried to cut in but Thiago Motta came in with a great challenge to stop him from pulling the trigger. Man Utd were starting to get on top though and only a fine save from the keeper again kept Lampards thunderbolt out. They did equalise though when Inler burst forward from deep and saw a gap in the defence to shoot and he did so, firing past Sirigu. Man Utd made a double change with Walcott and Gomez replacing Melo and Arshavin. They came forward again with Lampard playing Walcott into space and he won a corner from Perriera. The corner was delivered in and Samuel headed against the bar before Lugano cleared. West Ham had their chances too though Valbuena beating Rafael and finding Lisandro but his curling shot was just wide. Man Utd had more chances with Forlan dropping deeper and playing in Milner to cross for Gomez who headed just wide and then Walcott blasted over one on one with the keeper. Man Utd were putting the pressure on though and Forlan turned his man before slipping in Walcott who drove the ball across the face of the goal for Gomez who tapped in and handed Man Utd all 3 points. West Ham showed they had the quality to move up the league but Man Utds changes won them the game.
Manchester United 2-1 West Ham United
Man Utd Scorers: Inler 62, Gomez 79
West Ham Scorers: Lisandro 24,

Man Utd MOTM: Diego Forlan - 7 - Dragged the defenders around well to create space and chances.

West Ham MOTM: Thiago Motta - 8 - Put in a brilliant performance to close space down in midfield and make Man Utd work very hard.

Newcastle United v Hull City
A game between two teams who were looking to fight for top 7 status this season. Both teams had injuries to some key players with Kolarov and Bent out for Hill and Krasic missing for Newcastle. It was the away side who got on top early on using their midfield to gain an advantage and it almost gave them the lead after just 3 minutes when Vidal burst forward and played it to Cassano who slipped in Kherzakov but he fired wide. They had more chances too when Salvio beat Schenikov and crossed to the far post for Neymar but Boateng took it off his toes just in time. Newcastle had their first chance of the game when Hulk beat Pieters and crossed for Llorente who clashed heads with Coates, Di Natale fired over with the game then stopped and both players going off to receive treatment. Both were okay to continue though. Hull got back on top and they took the lead when Mvilla found Salvio outwide and his cross was met by Cassano to fire past Jaaskalienien. The goal seemed to kick Newcastle into action though, Modric picked out Cole who cut inside but got his shot horribly wrong. Their best chance of the half came when Modric set Di Natale away and he used his pace to get away from the defense before drawing the keeper and laying the ball of the Llorente for the simple tap in but Pieters was across and made a vital challenge in the nick of time. Hull had a final attack of the half when Cassano looked to release Neymar but Boateng made the challenge. The second half showed a mighty improvement from Newcastle. They had a great chance when Hulk beat a couple of challenges and slipped in Di Natale but Rami made a brilliant challenge. Hull werent stopping there though with Salvio looking a threat every time he came forward and causing Schenikov a lot of problems, the winger cut in then found Cassano who flicked the ball between the defenders for Kerzhakov to tap in the second but to the away fans misery, the flag was up, replays suggest it was a poor decision though. To add insult to injury Newcastle equalized moments later, Modric playing the ball to Hulk who powered his way through the defense and smashed the ball past Stekelenburg. Both teams were looking dangerous but the defenses started to get on top. Hull made a double change with Agbonlahor and Danilo on. There were two final chances, the first falling to Hull when Slavio found Agbonlahor but Hummels blocked the shot and then the final going to Newcastle. Hulk again beating his man and playing a one two with Modric before lifting the ball into the box for Di Natale who was clattered into by Coates for what surely had to be a penalty, but no! Another poor decision by the ref meant the game ended in stalemate.
Newcastle United 1-1 Hull City
Newcastle Scorers: Hulk 67
Hull Scorers: Cassano 32,

Newcastle MOTM: Hulk - 8 - The big striker used his physical abilities and pace to great effect giving the Hull back line countless problems.

Hull MOTM: Eduardo Salvio - 8 - The tricky winger gave Schenikov a nightmare today, he set up the goal and made many more chances.

Portsmouth v Wolves
Portsmouth began their difficult start to the season at home to a Wolves side looking to have another good season. New signings Ferdinand, Chielini, Fabregas, Higauin and Lukaku all made their debuts. Portsmouth looked to make a bright start with Bojan finding Van Der Wiel who crossed in but Ferdinand headed clear, only to Kroos who fired wide though. They had another chance as they pegged Wolves back, Montolivio playing in Barrios but he fired just wide. Wolves had their first chance when Lukaku held of a challenge and found Higuain who crossed in and Gerrard fired just wide. Wolves were slowly creeping back into the game when Fabregas played a good ball over the top and Lukaku managed to hold of his defender but his finish was poor. Wolves did take the lead though when Fabregas again caused problems, finding Sagna who returned the ball to Fabregas in the area and he tapped in. Portsmouth were not looking to sit back though, Diarra played a great ball into Cerci who beat Sagna and crossed for Barrios who headed straight at Neuer. There was one last chance of the half for Pompey when Bojan used his pave to come inside and force the defenders back before curling his shot goalwards and Neuer made a good save. Both teams made early second half subs with Lukaku and Kagawa replaced by Chamakh and Albrighton while Malouda replaced Cerci. Wolves had the next chance when Albrighton delivered a dangerous ball into Chamakh who failed to control and Kjaer cleared. Portsmouth got back level though when Kroos played it out to Bojan who again caused problems with the pace and played in Barrios who scored. Both teams were playing well, making for an entertaining game and they had their chances. Portsmouth with Malouda firing just wide from Van Der Wiels cross and then Gerrard shooting wide from Chamakhs knock down. Wolves had another chance when Fabregas found Gerrard who played in Higuain and the argentine fired past the keeper to put Wolves ahead. Portsmouth looked to get an equalizer but Wolves defense held on and their extra quality shone through as they beat a strong Portsmouth team.
Portsmouth 1-2 Wolves
Portsmouth Scorers: Barrios 71

Portsmouth MOTM: Bojan Krkic - 8 - Used his pace to great effect to give Wolves a lot of problems

Wolves MOTM: Francesc Fabregas - 8 - A fine display from the debutant, controlling Wolves' attacking play and scoring.

Queens Park Rangers v Sunderland
Newly promoted QPR took on Sunderland in their first premier league game of the season. They started the game well with Matri holding the ball up well and playing it out to Marin and his low ball across the area was tapped in by former Sunderland man Fernandez. QPR were dominating and it was 2-0 when Taarabt played in Matri to fire low past Kameni. The third came in injury time when Feruz played a good ball into Quagliarella and he played in Marin to complete the rout.
Queens Park Rangers 3-0 Sunderland

QPR MOTM: Marko Marin - 7 - The on loan winger caused havoc around the opposition area.

Sunderland MOTM: Carlos Kameni - 6 - Had to keep the score low as possible.

West Brom Albion v Wigan Athletic
West Brom were looking to improve farther this season after an impressive return to the prem. Wigan had the team to stay clear of relegation but had a difficult start with games against last years top 11 coming thick and fast. They made a flying start though with Pirlo finding Zhirkov who put in a cross and Kuyt escaped the defenders to get away a shot on goal and he gave Wigan the lead against his former side. West Brom though looked to get straight back level and had a good chance when Adam played Turan into space and he put in a good cross that Ba just headed over. It was a back and fourth game though and Wigan nearly got their second when Stakovic played in Fabiano but Jagielka made a fine save. West Brom drew level though as Wigan left themselves too open, Pepe getting into space and playing the ball infield to Adam who beat Marchena before firing in. The teams went in level at the break. The game was fast and furious in the second half too, West Brom having the first chance when Adam slipped in Ba but he fired wide. Wigan had their chances too with Cahill headed over. West Brom went more attacking towards the end and had a great chance when N'Zogbia put in a dangerous ball but Dempsey couldn't direct his header well enough and in the end West Broms lack of cutting edge meant they had to settle for a point.
West Brom Albion 1-1 Wigan Athletic
West Brom Scorers: Adam 41
Wigan Scorers: Kuyt 2,

West Brom MOTM: Charlie Adam - 7 - Pulled the strings for West Brom
