And yeah I still want Potter, Don, or ETH. Conte would never have been my first choice. He's a very good manager and I would have accepted him but there are things about him that don't float my boat. And we have to be honest with ourselves, for all the excitement around him, he wouldn't guarantee trophies at Spurs. As has been shown he would need big spending, just as anyone else would if we are to win stuff at Spurs, and Levy isn't prepared to do that. Credit to him for walking away, I rate him a bit higher as a manager now.

Oh I would like Ten Haag too, as I mentioned him months ago, but we ain’t getting him. Potter would really underwhelm me.

Don, I seriously don't know anymore whether I care or not.
Sometimes I do because as a fan, I feel I should.

But when I see the shenanigans of last week, and how the chairman is ridiculing us in every transfer window, I feel I had enough with the club?

Of course I care

Might stop caring after the appointment

TBH I never quite get why supporters get so wound up about who the manager is. There will never be another Billy Nicholson.

Potter would excite me because I've seen Brighton's style of play and I'd be interested to see how he'd apply that to a better team. Their low position in the table doesn't concern me that much, but the one thing I'd wonder about is how Potter would cope with a bigger team and how ambitious he would be to succeed at one.

I think he would do well as long as he was given time and was at least given some good signings.

Don would beat the crap out of Levy though, and that's why he'd be one of my choices.

Like you say Spurtle, put his bald cue ball head in a vice. “Casino” style.

I’m with you Don. Couldn’t give a damn now. It’s such a mess. I called this a few days ago about it possibly being posturing to drive interest in season ticket renewals. I don’t whole-heartedly believe that as even I can’t see Levy stopping so low with such Machiavellian tactics, but we have to admit it was a possibility. With rumours now that Poch looks very unlikely, I’m just not in the slightest bit interested in anything the club now chooses to do. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so removed from it all.

If it’s an underwhelming appointment, as it surely will be now, even though season tickets have been bought, I think fans should vote with their feet. Nothing will be a dagger to ENIC’s heart like the PR disaster a half empty stadium would bring. Financially it won’t make difference but what a way to protest. I really think we should be considering that come the new season. It’s so toxic. It cannot continue. If I were a manager with any level of self respect, I’d run a mile. Poch should stay where he is for his own good. Nothing successful will ever happen all the time we have these owners.

I am completely meh about it these days, ENIC have basically reaffirmed what we already knew, that is they have no interest in making Spurs trophy winners. They have no desire to bring in a top level manager and back him sufficiently enough. All they are interested in is maximizing profit and ripping off the fans.

What is most surprising though, taking a look through the web, is the amount of Levyista`s and ENIC fan boys still around.

You know the type, they have been spun the same poverty pleaded yarns for so long now, they are happy to just tread water and settle for second best, as long as Levy saves a few quid on a transfer every window, to them, their level of ambition is Levy taking a rival chairman to the cleaners over a transfer.

This club needs a massive change of direction, and that starts with the removal of ENIC, Lewis and Levy. The fans have suffered long enough.

The worrying part for me is I don't think they actually know what they want to do, really. It's just a collection of kneejerk reactions. All this ballacks about the club saying no to Conte because he wouldn't use the youth.. it's embarrassing.

They make an effort to stick with Poch, everyone was happy, sure things started to go bad but they failed to back him and then sacked him. Ok so we want trophies over emotion? Go for a manager that's won a trophy at every club he's been at. Ok. Sack him a week before the final. Try to hire the best available coach in the world with apparently no concept of what he will likely want, or that what he wants might actually be what any top manager needs to succeed.

I still love the club. Levy isn't our club. But fack me, he needs to retire somewhere and take his dividends.

The part I find most shocking about the Conte deal is that I think it’s plainly obvious what type of manager he is and how he doesn’t fit the profile of someone Levy would need to honour the more frugal will of the ownership. Say you write down a list of names that could possibly come in and if he’s available, obviously his name is on there. That’s when you do your due diligence and air concerns about how he operates when money isn’t provided. What’s his youth policy? Is he a long term project man. Anyone of us could have sat down with Levy and told him he wasn’t a good fit with the club’s business model and this how debacle would have been avoided. How is it possible that no one at the top table, making such a vital decision for the club, can see that how wrong it was? It’s staggering. The club is run by fools. I find it hard to believe Poch has a good relationship with them.

Exactly fridgeboy.

I gave Levy way too much credit and got excited about hiring Conte, thinking it meant that he'd finally loosen the purse strings, give up control, and let football people do football things.

Though I think you're giving him too much credit by assuming there's an actual long term project and youth policy in place, a business model maybe. As you say they're a bunch of fools. I actually have so little faith in Levy I bet he'll fack up selling the club/stepping down and leave us with some even worse caant. Probably an NFL franchise owner.

This. Every person on the planet knows what Conte is like and the guy left Inter Milan because of financial restraints, so why the f** did Levy even bother interviewing and chasing him for a week ? If you are not going to give in to his demands then it’s absolutely pointless. A top manager like that will need reassurances and if you can’t deliver that, then what a complete waste of time. It also confirms another thing that Harry Kane is 100% off. Conte must of asked for reassurance of him staying and he was told they couldn’t guarantee that. I hate what we have become under this lot. A club that thinks it’s elite but literally shows no signs or ambitions as an elite club. The equivalent of a guy that goes to Vegas pretending he’s rich and mixing with the high rollers, but knowing he’s only 200 smackers in his pocket for the week. Desperation and delusional from us. Stop pretending we are elite. If you think we are, then start f^** acting like it. Put tonnes of money onto the football field like the chelsea owner and stop duping the supporters. I’m glad spurs fans are slowly seeing sense. Hopefully we can make it as toxic as possible next season and let them know they ain’t wanted anymore

It’s roberto Martinez I would love poch but it’s not gonna happen.

Poch and conte were for the benefit of season tickets.

We thought we would get nagglesmann arrogantly didn’t count on the Germany and Bayern job coming up. Martinez the only one interviewed several times and contact was made whilst we had Jose.
