I fancied England to do well but when I look at that defence and midfield area it's weak compared to years gone by. To think we had Scholes, Gerrard and Lampard. Now it's Rice, Mount or Henderson. With Maguire not being fit I can't see us doing any better than the quarters, when we could face France. That French team is just streets ahead of any other team. I wouldn't rule out Portugal either. Ronaldo, B Silva, B Fernandes, Diaz, Jota, Felix. They've got much more talent than they used to have. They're my dark horse bet to retain the trophy.
Usually a big tournament brings the country together, it's one of the things that make the finals a bit special. We've had some cracking tournaments in the past that will live long in the memory. Really good times.
We've got a half a chance, no more than that. Southgate looks a bit lost recently. The Scottish game will be massive.
Hopefully the team can get off to a good start and spread some much needed optimism about the place. It's coming home.
Lot of waffle, Sandy dude?!
But I agree with your gist that England won't be good. Lot of overhyped players, I mean I heave heard some say Luke Shaw is world class Plus that midfield has no spark or creativity. Sterling is one trick poney.
Winner: Portugal or Spain
Golden boot: Kane - will score a few
I know it's predictable with Kane, but have you ever seen anyone more focused or deadlier than our (ex) front man!
Anyway:
Winner:
I think the trick with International football tournaments is to cast off club concerns, and just enjoy the spectacle as it unfolds over the coming days and weeks.
Only if England (or whichever country you support) look like doing something special should any tension arise.
I doubt I'll watch it all - in fact I know I won't - but I'll definitely be watching more than just the England matches.
Enjoy it, sandy.

It's why I think the best man managers tend to make the best international managers. There's only so much you can do in terms of shape and patterns of play. It's about togetherness more than anything else. Coleman is a good example. Great for Wales in 2016, now he can't get a club job for love nor money.
Normally not bothered about international football but spurs have sucked so much joy out of the game for me recently, I can’t wait for this to start.
Last chance to cheer on Harry too

Who did you get? I pulled Belgium. Pretty happy with that but I can't see them winning it.
You got a new club manager mate
France are 9/2 to win the Euros, that is a decent price imo

Can't help being a bit excited about the Euros, same as the World Cup. Nice opportunity to watch a bunch of players I wouldn't normally see, and on free to air TV as well. Lovely.
Don’t care for international friendlies, but Love the Euros and world cups. How can any football fan not? If Boccelli singing Nessum Dorma in the opening ceremony doesn’t send shivers down your spine then nothing will. It certainly beats watching Spurs that’s for sure. Will try and catch most the games.
I thought Boccelli is a little past it now....
not as good as he used to be when Pavarotti discovered him.
