Italy surely favourites at the moment. They are my favourite team to watch. Just good all over the pitch.

Reading after the Spain win that they are the 7th team to win two games that went to extra time in a Euros tournament. The previous 6 teams went onto win the competition

This Doku guy for Belguim is rapid. Not seen him play before.

Doku is only 19, but Rennes paid 26m euros for him, but I agree he shows a lot of potential.
Surprised Belgium didn’t call on Dendonker when they were chasing the matchπŸ˜‚.
The Italian away top is a thing of minimalist beauty.

Italy have been the most impressive team so far. Real high quality game tonight. Could be an England v Italy final

Seems that a permanent deal has been agreed for Vinagre to join Sporting Lisbon which will pay for Ait Nouri.

Roma have sold their keeper to Marseille which presumably means they will soon confirm Patricio

Spurs and Everton both evidently want Coady. Fee of £40m being quoted in the media

Whilst we could cope without Coady as a player, we lose so much more if we do sell him: not only does he organise the defence, he is constantly talking to the team during games. He’s our captain for that reason.

For me, we can only sanction this move if we have a replacement already on the books. That includes the Captaincy as well. Who do you reckon would take that role from within the current squad?

I think Neves is the obvious choice for captain if he remains at the club. He is the youngest player ever to captain a team in the champions league which he did at Porto when he was 18

Very different character to Coady though. We would miss Coady as a talker and a captain but I’m not sure that’s enough to keep him in the team in a 4 man defence. But just because Lage played 442 at Benfica doesn’t mean he’s decided that’s the only way to play

Truth is we don’t have anybody do we? Maybe Neves at a push?

Losing the best manager the club has had in decades, together with our leader and captain, isn’t the progression I was expecting this summer.

It does appear that the asset stripping is gathering pace?

Lage comes to Wolves with a reputation for playing attacking football and I wondered whether that would lead us to adopting a similar style to Bielsa at Leeds. He played 4141 mostly last season but that was because the players struggled to adapt to the formation he built his reputation around which was 3313. For Wolves I guess that could look like
Sa
Mosquera, Coady, Boly
Semedo, Neves, Ait Nouri
New signing
Traore, Jimenez, Neto

Don’t you see Vitunha fitting in that space where you have gone for a new signing Spangles?

posted on 3/7/21

Must have missed this, but who is Mosquera? Google results lead me to a couple of 40 year old Columbian footballers. Not sure we’ll be able sell this guy on for profit …

posted on 3/7/21

Yerson Mosquera is Colombian but only 20. We did sign him, honest

Maybe if he signs, but personally I think that position needs to be our marquee signing for the summer. Replace Moutinho with someone more mobile and attack minded and who gets his share of goals. No idea who, but I do think that’s the key position to the team progressing

Coady for any fee over 20m is a no brainer to me and Neves would be the player within that could step up and maybe a sweetener in keeping him here though I doubt he cares much about things like that.

Mosquera is young and doubtful he is going to be a start straight away as he adapts. And key signing wise I think DJ is right to a degree, I don't think Vitinha would be the first option in that role but of course if Coady goes then that probably becomes our priority slot to fill at the back but with a proper CB.

Nuno turned down Palace because they wouldn’t let him take his 6 back room staff with him. Looks like the negotiations at Spurs have seen a compromise with him taking 3. Surprisingly that does not include Rui Pedro Silva who has been his Assistant Manager throughout his managerial career

Dominated he game, dictated the play and 3 -0 up. How is that stinking out the tournament? Sounds like Scottish sour grapes to me.

Yeah really stinking it out now 4-0
