That's an obscene amount of money.
We all might as well call it a night if a team can afford to lump on 150 million.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It really isn't though, and it'll be worth less and less obscene over the next couple of years as inflation continues.
The reality is that it'll take us 250m (buying several players) and a lot more than we are paying him in wages to replace Kane so I wouldn't budge.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It really is absurd money.
Inflation? I wouldn't expect Argentina like figures of Inflation.

What's the odds of Levy digging his heels in panicking at the thought of a Kane hattrix for City in front of a home crowd in the opening day. So he sells him after the first round of matches and then we are panciking around with 2 weeks left to find replacement.
It's not like he doesn't have previous for this is it...

And how much would city want to sell se bruyne now?

When you look at previous sales and where he is at his position (top 5) £150m sounds about right. In this market I think £80-£100m sounds more likely.
All that said I can't see Levy letting him go for under £100m because of the optics

Back then it seemed so, but the narrative is changing
I'm still sticking with my bold prediction that he signs a new contract that:
1. Pushes his money up to £250k-£300k a week
2. Has a sensible but not outrageous buyout clause of £150million
3. Has an option for him to be leave if we fail to win a trophy or finish outside of the top 4 this season
Kane has not actually come out officially and said that he wants to leave though, I have seen no direct quotes from Kane saying so.
All we have are claims from the media, and as we know, Skyte Sports in particular have been desperately trying to transfer Kane away from Spurs for years, as they know it would strengthen the hands of their darling clubs (those that generate them the most revenue) positions, by weakening Spurs. They have twisted Kane`s recent interview with Nevile to suit their agenda.
Of course, it is still probable Kane has indeed asked to leave, as we know there is no smoke without fire, but until we see a direct quote from the man himself, then we should apply liberal amounts of salt.
Replacing Kane would not be easy and affects all our other transfer business aslo, what top players will look at Spurs selling their star player and club legend, and think to themselves, `there is a club with ambition`, they will likely go elsewhere and we will be left once again with 2nd and 3rd choice options.
6 weeks out but i bet he plays as many minutes as anyone. If he is managed properly he would stop getting these injuries.
150 m is a fair price concidering that 50 million buys you and average player these days.
Billy, I have not seen anything with this club that suggests remotely any form of ambition for 3 years almost. Since Poch got us into the CL finals, and begged, literally begged Levy to bolster the squad with high quality players, this club has been as backward as a donkey in a library!
It’s about what he doesn’t say though. It’s clear in Kane’s interviews of late that he wants out. Wanting to win trophies, coming to a crossroads in his career, wanting to have a meeting with Levy to discuss his future, etc
We are bidding for Lamptey....Brighton player
Fonseca has gone on holiday before he could be announced as a manager
They are all deserting Spurs
City have had one bid rejected for Kane?
Oh dear, Kane goes to City, and we play them in the first game...Kane hattrick incoming
Kane winning trophies before Spurs incoming
ffs, Levy this club is a disgrace!
Levy has made it clear he's not willing to take players in part payment and is demanding a cool £150 million in cash.
Spending £150 Million on a player doesn't fit in with the Man City business model, they never spend anywhere near that on a player. They're more of buy every player in an expensive, but not mind blowing figure so they have an excellent squad in both the main starting 11 and depth in every position rather than a star figurehead.
I don't think the European big boys are in a finical position to spend as big as that
I think Levy knows this and at that price he has priced him out for Man City so who could or rather could and would pay £150 million for a player? I think once you've taken Man City out of the equation that leaves Man U or Chelsea.
Is Kane about to move across to the other side of London? I'd be surprised, so Man U who came well short of winning the title last season could well invest big to win a trophy that is starting to embarrass them by how long its been since they won it, I suppose it depends on how much Sancho costs them.
Its my opinion Levy has deliberately priced him out of everyone's reach to hold on to him, it's a dangerous game to force a player to remain when he wants to leave
As good as kane is, he is entering the end of his career and has no resale value. Spurs want to keep him and levy obviously wants as much as possible but...and it's a big but, kanes demenour has changed. I've never seen him suggest he needs to move on until recently. Way he addressed it like he would decide suggests they have some sort of agreement.
The price of 150 million is low for spurs losing their best player but not market value. Lewo could leave Munich for way less than that and he has been the best striker for the last year or two.
No sale will happen at that price which means I can see Kane putting pressure on the club. Levy is playing a very dangerous game I think. Get the best deal possible as quick as possible and move on. Dragging this out could mean kane stays at spurs unhappy, and his performances suffer, and his value continues to go down as he ages. I can see loads more twist and turns yet. If kane has said he wants out after all these years u can be sure it's something he has thought about plenty.
It is unlikely Kane is the type to let staying at Spurs affect his performances, he still has numerous individual records to target, and we know he wants to go on to be the PL all time leading goal scorer.
Kane is a Spurs lad, he loves the club and his family are all Spurs fans, I doubt he would kick up much of a fuss, he would likely accept the situation and get on with being a Spurs player.
Kane could potentially play on into his mid - late 30`s, he has never relied on pace and is a model pro, who is to say he could not carry on performing ala Sheringham, Zlatan and Ronaldo etc, he has plenty of time on his side yet.
Usually when a Player wants out of a contract he gets to go. A disgruntled player often starts to kick balls into touch, etc. etc. Its just not worth the club putting up with that because it affects the rest of the squad too.
Now Kane may not be that type of character.
But you can bet your week's wages that Kane's agents are telling him to "move on now."
Levy has started with a high bar.
But he may rethink. Losing Kane at 28 may not be the worst thing that could happen. maybe he can bargain for money plus very good younger players.
I do not think this situation is over. Its just started!

Exactly. And as much as kane isn't the type to down tools it will still effect him mentally I'm sure.
