Agree. I am not that fussed with International football these days, but still pleased Sterling is banging them in and coming up with match winners. I couldn't care less who the players play for.

At one point in the second half he was so deep he was putting the ball through for Philips to run through on. Just the wrong way round. Unfortunately this England play too deep to genuinely supply Kane, Rice and Philips are not going to be doing much running into the box to distract runners and don't seem to believe in forward passing so Kane seems to want to come deeper. Also don't think it quite works between Kane and Sterling and, at the moment, you've got say Sterling is doing enough of the business to justify staying on ahead of Kane.

The skill is being there in the first place and in all fairness it was actually not an easy header as it was coming in around chest height. If you feed Kane he will score. Somebody mentioned Rice & Phillips, neither of whom seem to know what a forward pass is, England’s midfield lacks creativity which is why service to Kane is so limited.
Sterling has a lot of ability but does run up some blind alleys when he is dribbling with the ball. Did well with the goal however!

For example, if we were linked with facking sol Campbell as our next manager and everyone would.be up in arms about it

This isn't a big game in the grand scheme of things, just a last 16 game. A big game is usually a semi or a final.

Kane however is the only world class player in the England team, so will now start to step up.

Very relaxed about last night`s game. I fully expected England to win over a very poor German side, certainly one of the worse of my lifetime. The game itself was very poor, two very average sides, one of whom had to win. England have a world class striker though, which makes a big difference.

I am to old in the tooth to get overly excited about a single knockout win. I may do if they actually win the tournament.
