Is it Nuno?

I honestly have no idea whether this is a good thing or not. I do think he's a more positive choice than Mourinho.

*Pro*
- Good man manager - players seem to like him
- Premier League experience
- I think a back 3 / 5 suits our current squad
- Has played ok football if you ignore last year
- Works well in a DoF system

*Con*
- Don't think this convinces Harry to *want* to stay
- Mendes link is worrying
- Counter attacking football is likely to be back

This is a not in line with Levy's DNA statement. I'm not convinced but will get behind Nuno or whoever the manager is. Still hope it's Stevie G but time is running out.

Horrendous appointment. More negative uninspiring football. Laughable after Levy's talk about free flowing attacking football.

I'll be asking about a season ticket refund.

Nuno is a bit meh as a choice in my opinion, I don’t think it will be a disaster but can’t see us doing anything spectacular under him

Never been a fan of playing 3 at the back. It invites too much pressure and 3 CBs can sometimes be a case of too many cooks. Oh well let us see what happens.

Still Ten Haag or Potter should be the man for the Jon imo. Both should be attainable for a club like Spurs. Nuno just doesn’t instil much confidence. Nor does Gerard.

Im the same.

His reputation is as a defensive coach. Even in 19/20 when they ended 7th they only scored 51 goals - by far the fewest in the top 8 but you have to consider the resources they had. Decent forward players but not someone of the quality of Kane and Son to bang in +40 goals between them.

The worry would be if we lose Kane and with Nuno in charge are we likely to be able to carry a serious attacking threat given his style of play.

It would not be the worst appointment given his PL experience and the progress Wolves made under him, but the jury would be seriously out. A lot to prove, not a manager who we would comfortably feel would bring success., still more hopeful than anything else.

Sandy guaranteed it would be Martinez - so can we really trust the Telegraph? I think not

Whats spectacular in your opinion? Achieving more than Poch? Or getting Top 4 and reaching a final?

I think that's it, with our attacking talent we'd naturally score more goals. I've read some deep dives into his style and he seems flexible (used to play 4-3-3 at Valencia)

Winning a trophy, consistently finishing top 4 - that would be spectacular in my opinion.

I think we will be a solid top 6 team under Nuno but often missing top 4 and no trophies - I.e. more of the same

Whilst not a spectacular appointment his probably the best manager available at the moment for us.

I'd rather Nuno over Martinez all day long.

Such an uninspiring, unexciting, underwhelming appointment.

He was available weeks ago, but Paratici wanted Fonseca and the Gattuso. Why didn’t we move for Nuno then if he was ‘the man’? So clearly a compromise choice. He’s free and he’s a Mendes client, so ticks a box each for Levy and Paratici. He also plays dreary football and was binned off by Wolves.

He wasn’t binned by Wolves, he left them

A slither of optimism from Ali Gold:

Football.london understands that during discussions Paratici showed Levy the way Espirito Santo's entertaining Valencia side played, more often with a 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 than the back three he became known for at Wolves.

It is understood that during talks it was made clear by both Paratici and Espirito Santo that the football the Portuguese would bring to Tottenham would tick the attacking, entertaining boxes Levy had called for while also, at the same time, being strong at the back.

Espirito Santo has shown a willingness to adapt to the personnel he has and clubs he has worked at in his career and this is believed to be the case once again at Tottenham. His desire to work with young players and help develop Tottenham's talents in their academy was also believed to be a plus for the club during talks.
