Do you guys care if this Kane thing gets messy?
eg Kane comes out in public and blatantly says he wants to go, i want trophies etc but Levy is pricing me out or something, would you lot back Kane or Levy?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It cannot get messy. Kane is under contract. It will not be done to him. Only Daniel Levy can decide. If he wanted to he could hold Kane to the three years left on his contract. You do know that when you sign a contract it is binding.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sandy, you know contracts mean very little these days. so are you saying you'd be happy to keep Kane for 3 trophy-less years, fully knowing he wants to go? Simple question?

Simple but pertinent imo, it's not beyond belief that Harry COULD make a statement about wanting to leave, might not though as he seems a fairly respectful bloke but if he did say something there would be a different level of pressure on the Spurs board that up until now hasn't been there.

Interested to see what would come from that?

Really not sure what this discussion is all about. Is pointless, given Kane is under contract until 2024, and Levy doesn't need to do anything, certainly not bow down to the likes of City, a little club with virtually no history before the oil money came along, who now thing they own football.
Kane can like it or lump it, but Levy holds the cards.
The rest is just media "noise"

Kane has to live with the consequences of signing a long term contract at the wrong end of his career, and rightly so.

I suspect he’ll end up with a similar career to Shearer, minus the PL title.

You kinda answered my question anyway, which is basically 'Kane's under contract, feck what he wants'

"new Spurs boss Nuno has been given assurances by club chairman Levy that he will get a substantial transfer kitty when & only when City buy Kane for £150m."

There fixed it for you.

It's funny. The media go from selling Kane to City one minute to questioning whether he should be dropped by Southgate

Like you say...noise!

"new Spurs boss Nuno "

I read this and realised the article must be garbage, as Martinez is the new boss, i was reliable informed.

Of course Kane will go public to force a move. He’s already had the passage in the Neville interview carefully choreographed. Yes it was a watered down, less explicit version in which he was attempting to make his position clear without being completely alienating to his current club and fan base, while putting himself firmly in the shop window.

If Levy attempts to price him out of a move it is entirely plausible Kane will ramp it up, be publicly explicit in his desire to leave and hand in a formal transfer request. The club aren’t stupid and will be aware of this possibility. They may want to avoid this or they maybe looking to force Kane in to taking such a stand as it will direct fan dissatisfaction towards the player and away from the club. Levy will look to come out with some credit for getting the maximum fee for a player who has made his intensions clear.

As much as 3 years on the contract is comforting Sandy, you’re being naive to think it is as black and white as that. Yes it puts the club in a stronger position to negotiate but to weigh it up against publicly keeping a player of Kane’s profile against his will, the repercussions on squad morale, missed transfer potential…it is not something that makes football or business sense for the club.

Kane won’t leave this summer fella. He can do what he wants. The chairman holds all the cards and he will do what’s best for the club. Kane just needs to accept it.

How many cases like these days turn out with players needing to accept it? It sounds more like a case of you need him to accept it because you’re struggling to.

There’s an outside possibility Levy may hold on to him grant you, for a season perhaps. I’d imagine his fee would drastically reduce from what you’d get now.

There is a thing called contacts fella. If you sign them you are legally bound to them. Kane has one. He stays. The chairman will ensure that he does. The law and his commitment to the club are on his side. End of.
