The fab 4 is now just Root. Kohli has been in decline and now Williamnson and Smith have started to decline.

This ball change rule needs to be binned, they should get 1 ball and use it until the new one is due, regardless of its condition

Amazing to think a few years ago, it was more of a big 3 with Root being the Murray to the Nadal, Federer and Djokovic that Smith, Kohli and Williamson seemed to be. His game is at an unreal level now and it feels like he's possibly elevating himself to another level since relinquishing the captaincy.

I did used to have Root 4th in that list but he is the last man standing and the best out of the lot.

Mo Ali did say on comms last week that during Covid Root decided to bat 30 overs v a ball machine, have a break, bat 30 overs and repeat to more closely follow a Test match and help get over his conversion issue.

Yeah I've just heard he has got to 50 on 16 occasions in the last 18 months and converted to 3 figures 11 times. Previously it was 6 out of his last 32. Fair play to him for having a deep dive in what to do to correct it.

This partnership so far has really balanced traditional test cricket with "Bazball". India take 3 quick wickets so they just look to stay in against a swinging ball scoring at about 2 an over for 15 overs allowing the ball to get older before going on the attack.

Hopefully it makes Stokes rethink about his own personal approach with the bat.

Jadeja has a average under 25 with the ball but like Ashwin it is inflated with home tests on bunsen burners. Outside Asia he is not even Leach level.
