If England do not win this they will be kicking themselves. Teams chase down near on 200 in 20/20 stuff, so 90 overs should be a given with all the one day players in the team.

Our highest run chase ever should be an absolute doddle... Superb stuff.
There is a chance but the odds are still hugely stacked against England. Jadeja was making life a bit tricky for Burns and will be a handful for the left handers. Also their seamers are quicker than ours so reverse swing may well come into the game later.
It's been the best possible start and they could pull it off but it certainly won't be a doddle

Good news for England is that Jade is pretty average spinner. The fact that Moeen has more wickets than him in one less test says it all. He average 25 in test cricket but that's mainly down to the bunsen burners in India.

Well in the 2nd test England lost 10 wickets on day 5 only batting 60 odd overs. So even if England are 2 down at lunch or less than that they could still very easily collapse lol.
Yep. but surely they wont do that again?? Not on this pitch? Obviously its a huge possibility. Bud youd hope the players would bat more sensible now and bat time.

I forget the exact stay they showed on BBC live text the other day, but yeah. I was surprised too. Spinners average something like 5 or 6 lower at the Oval in the past X years than other test grounds in England. I don't remember the time frame either but it was long enough to be vaguely relevant at least

Yet again I find myself slightly defending Sandy...(Yeah I know) - but he has a point
however, this is England we speak of...the scoreboard will be our enemy today, as well as their bowlers...there should be no reason we don't bat out for a draw in principle.....but we wait & see which England turns up.
