I’ve a feeling that the release clause isn’t as low as has been reported. I did see that mentioned a while back as well. Dortmund have shown in the past they will hold off on sales, even if it costs them money on the fees. Plus there’s the risk that losing both Sancho and Haaland in the same year costs them CL football, and the money and attraction that it brings.
Quite interested to see who they replace Sancho with.
They've signed two youth players from PSG's U19's too which will not doubt turn out to be amazing.
They aren’t going to replace Sancho like for like. Their new coach is gonna use two strikers which is why they’re after Malen.
Two strikers making a bit of a comeback which I like.
Just a shame there’s not many grate strikers about.

Do you think there are less than there were...or ones that are not as good
There’s just not as many.

Or they just don’t get the games to develop to make it to the top. Naturally there will just be fewer strikers. But there’s currently an issue with the pool of talent up front, that wasn’t as much of an issue a few years ago.
In a few years I suspect there will be more around just because it’s currently a down moment for the position. I imagine Greenwood will be one of those players when he eventually moves back into the middle.

If teams generally only play one striker, players that are strikers are suddenly wide forwards or inside forwards. Look at Greenwood, another time he's an out and out CF alongside another striker. Would thrive. Now he'll probably play over half his career on the right.

The fox in the box type striker is dying out, even with Haaland despite his personal stats BVB have actually got worse with him their.
Liverpool winning the CL and PL with Firmino leading the line, City winning the league playing false 9 roulette and Chelsea winning the CL with Havertz false 9 is a clear sign of things to come.
I deffo think Dortmund would be open to selling Haaland this window. They get CL money wherever they finish so there’s less pressure to have a competitive team than other big clubs from other countries have and could easily ask for the likes of Werner or even Pulisic to come back as part of a deal.
A fox in the box isn’t the only type of striker there is, though. Nor was that always the case. There’s not always a healthy pool of talent at any one time in all positions. At this current time striker is a problem position in world football. That doesn’t mean it’ll always be the case.
Rob, but they may not have the CL next season if they sell Haaland. And they will have some ambitions of trying to compete with Bayern.
I wouldn’t ever write Chelsea off making a big signing, though. But I won’t be surprised if he stays a year as it suits his and Dortmund’s interests.

If Dortmund get Werner though and add him to the likes of Reyna, Moukouko, Bellingham, Reus and Hazard and I think that’s enough for top 4. Especially as they have a good manager again finally. They’d probably unearth some super talent we’ve never heard of too 😂
As if Dortmund would pay Werner’s wages.
They’ll probably get Chelsea to pay a large part of them 🤣
Seems unlikely. By all accounts, Tuchel really like Werner, despite him finishing like Ameobi last season. Can’t see Chelsea giving up on him so soon. He’ll probably score a lot more for them next season as well.
Once the Kane deal (possibly) happens I think it might start a transfer merry go round. For our sake I hope Chelsea don’t get Haaland. I guess it all depends on where he wants to go. Maybe he’ll wait for Spain.
The Kane to City rumours have been dismissed haven't they?

Odsonne Edouard from all accounts. They might actually score more than once every 400 shots 😂
Let’s hope so. Maybe then United would pay attention it Brighton are scoring goals and appoint Potter to replace Ole.
I admire your master plan. I’m personally hoping Poch wins the CL at PSG (not at our cost obv) and then when he’s done with petro-clubs he takes over a nice, provincial, family club like ours and takes us up a level. But Potter would still be good 👍
He signed a contract extension until 2023 today actually.
Fack PSG, hope they flop again in the CL.
