You guys are really taking this news badly

OP

Yeh I can never get my head around our supporters that say Kane deserves to win trophies and medals at other clubs. I mean WTF do they really support Spurs or some other club.

I am only interested in players winning trophies and medals at Spurs.

Once a player leaves Spurs, I quickly forget about them.

If it was something innocent or simple there would have a statement from Kane or a representative

Its all speculation, nothing more, nothing less. Thought Kane would have more credit after 16 years at the club.

From the Athletic. Usually reliable:

After an eventful day that Kane hopes will force Spurs’ hand and smooth the way for his desired move to Manchester City, The Athletic can reveal that:

Kane spoke to a senior non-English Manchester City player prior to Monday to inform him of his desire to join the club.

Some at City became aware over the weekend that Kane’s intention was not to train or play for Spurs again.

After Monday’s no-show, Kane does not plan to return to Hotspur Way until he is granted his wish to leave.

Tottenham’s position is that they will not sell to another Premier League club under any circumstances (as was the case when they moved on Luka Modric and Gareth Bale).

Sources at the club also insist that no “gentleman’s agreement” has ever been made.

Tottenham’s frustrations with Kane date back a year to when the striker’s post-holiday quarantining delayed his return to pre-season training and was perceived to have affected his performance on the opening weekend against Everton.

During the same summer, City held a strong interest in signing Kane until their attention was diverted to Lionel Messi.

Senior City sources have spoken of their expectation for “big signings” beyond the anticipated £100-million acquisition of Jack Grealish. They remain confident that a deal can be done for Kane.

Senior Spurs figures are furious at the course of action Kane has taken and will fine him if he does not return.

As it stands, Tottenham are making no plans for life after Kane. Many of the squad are resigned to him leaving, The Athletic understands, but the reality is that Spurs remain resolute in their stance: should a foreign club offer in the region of £150 million they would consider it. Otherwise, Kane stays.

A replacement striker is not on managing director of football Fabio Paratici’s list of targets (though they do admire Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic), and Kane’s leverage remains minimal since he has three years left on his contract. The club did not comment publicly about the situation on Monday as they consider it an internal matter. They plan to hit Kane with a substantial fine if he continues not to report for pre-season duties. And under the terms of his contract, The Athletic understands that Spurs could start an internal disciplinary procedure and then potentially sanction Kane according to the club’s conduct rules.

Kane hopes that by staying away from training he will make it harder for Spurs to resist City’s advances, and give himself greater leverage than if he behaved as normal and went to training.

City are understood to be willing to go as high as £130 million, but unless Spurs change their stance on not selling to a Premier League club then that would not make a difference. Even with some at the club using words like “unprofessional”, “unnecessary” and “disrespectful” to describe Kane’s behaviour on Monday.

Take it as you want but the resentment will only grow towards Kane each day he doesn't turn in. What a complete pillock he's turned out to be.

Why? Why do they have to respond to an overreaction from media and fans? Everyone is speculating and overreacting. Clubs and players hardly respond to that. Otherwise they might as well set up camp on Twatter and Feckbook.

Some of our fans need to calm down a bit. All this ‘he’s dead to me’ and ‘good riddance’ is absurd language to be using about a guy that’s been with us since he was a kid and is our second highest goal scorer because he’s missed a days training.

Even if it is the result of a strop, none of us knows the full story, none of us knows what has previously been discussed between Kane and Levy and whether Kane is actually justified in standing his ground against the chairman. I don’t trust Levy one bit myself.

I also have concerns over the advice Kane is receiving - is brother is a rank amateur who is probably resorting to tactics like this because he doesn’t have the expertise to negotiate Kane out of Spurs any other way.

It’s obviously a complicated situation, and it’s disappointing for us all, but personally I prefer to hear all sides and judge it objectively before opting to hang draw and quarter one party.

If Kane literally goes on strike and forces a move out then that will leave a bitter taste and he will have ruined his legacy at the club. But we aren’t there yet, so my advice would be to keep your powder dry and see how it plays out rather than crucifying the guy the first chance you get.

Load of garbage. He’s an athlete, athletes want to compete and win accolades, if they are good enough and motivated enough.

Fans don’t ‘deserve’ to win anything. We don’t control what happens on the pitch. We support who we support, silverware is a nice bonus but ultimately it’s not the motivating reason as to why most of us go to games and support who we do (unless you’re a run of the mill plastic ofc)

posted on 3/8/21

Lets see what happens regarding Kane but it's pathetic small club mentality to say Kane deserves to win another club a trophy.
........................................
Or it's a compassionate, mature view to suggest that one of the greatest strikers in the World deserves to win trophies / go to a club that actually have ambition to win trophies.

Let's not forget we sacked Jose in the week leading up to the league cup final.
