I am happy with the way we are playing at the moment, I just hope that the efl take their fingers out and come to a decision very soon.
Transfer window closes very soon, and were are down to bare bones.

Would anyone really be surprised if the EFL delay ending our transfer embargo until after the window is closed?

IT appears that Max Lowe - late of this parish - has ended up on the Dark Side.
Apparently we are 'gutted' about this move.

'Max Lowe' ?
Shame, thought he had potential -once !
'White Horse'?
By the time Scouse has paid for a round of Jagers, it'll be time to set off back for the game. Surely the Harvester is a better bet ?

View has his wires crossed, I'm going on a white horse. Sort of like Lady Godiva but much less hirsute.
Oh yes the Harvester - not to be mixed with the Merlin or was it the other way around?
Anyway, I'd blame the taxi driver............
These people that don't know their way round Derby eh!
John Percy from The Torygraph:/
‘Derby County and the EFL are locking in negotiations for a settlement. The EFL have proposed a 9 points deduction.’
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/08/26/derby-county-close-efl-settlement-points-deduction-still-possible/
If this is true then 9 points is the opening bid. Anyone wanna haggle? Seems bonkers to do it this way as currently the only transgression Derby has made has already been punished with a 100K fine which the EFL has chosen not to appeal. We have not been found guilty of anything else. Precedent has been made with other clubs who have fallen foul of FFP regulations but we have not been found guilty of any. If we have, then the process would be to charge us with it and then impose a sanction based on the precedent set with clubs like Brum and Sheff Wednesday. These points deductions have traditionally been slashed on appeal. So this is a sort of kangaroo court with the aim of bullying us into accepting something in order to move on and presumably to be able to sell the club. Even if we felt it was reasonable it makes a complete mockery of the entire process which the EFL has used previously. Punishments have never been agreed by private negotiation. Everything about it completely stinks. Every party involved comes out with no credit at all - the EFL, Morris or the chairmen of other clubs baying for blood.
Talk too of the EFL "imposing a business plan" on Derby. WTF? That must constitute restriction of trade unless other clubs are subject to the same rules. What an absolute crapshow.
The negotiations/appeal aside, the article implies Forest under more pressure than us for a result!
I doubt whether any of the EFL punishments would be upheld in a real court of law. We shouldn't have accepted the £100,000 fine as it is an admission of guilt. Sheff Wednesday only received a 6 point deduction for an offence deemed more serious than ours.
Brilliant summation, Vidal!
It really does seem as though EFL does not want any appeal this time although, surely, there should be some public pronouncement on the resubmitted accounts. Either DCFC are in breach of FFP or they are not and we are entitled to know. The whole sorry saga is a sad reflection on the way football is run. Derby have clearly breached certain regulations but the complete lack of transparency throughout has given fans legitimate cause for concern. Whatever happens I cannot see any remote possibility of ALL the stakeholders being satisfied with the process or result.
As I have written before, I believe the running of the game needs an independent review followed by a complete overhaul.
Mornin' y'all
Wrong morning I know
If true then this new deduction discussion can only be coming from submission of the accounts with the revised amortsiation process applied. It cannot be for any of our current indiscretions as they are already dealt with and the embargo is only in place pending paying some bills and pending the outcome of the accounts re-submission
So, if we now breach FFP as a result of the new accounts then I guess the EFL are offering an 'out of court' type settlement in order that Derby can quickly be clear of where they stand for the rest of the season and maybe even bring in players assuming another embargo is not in place as well as a deduction.
Anything else, like an appeal from Derby, will further delay things meaning we might end the season not knowing if we are relegated (even promoted?) or not and also Mel will continue to struggle to sell the club.
Of course the size of the deduction would need discussion and in itself might delay past the transfer deadline. Precedents for FFP breach are 6 and 9 points (I'll ignore the 30 for Luton).
Wednesday got 6 points for accounting for the sale of their ground in the wrong accounting period and Brum got 9 due to the cost of hiring and firing managers and excessive wages payed to several expensive signings.
Our breach is not due to the former but maybe a version of the latter. Whilst undoubtedly unpleasant, I wonder what size of pill Mel might be willing to swallow for the greater good (if any)?
Ok, start the bidding.
I offer 3 points
Raise me?
I would take 3 points and even possibly 6 if we beat Forest on Satdee.
But I'd claim a Brady Violation which is an acceptance of punishment without an admission of guilt in order to just get on with life and save expensive court costs.
If we took 6 and won on Saturday, would we still be above Florest?
