Stop calling him Cristy you nonce
I feel like Ronaldo coming is more reason we’ll see McFred in the middle. The interesting thing will be who plays on the left? Pogba’s in good form but if he’s unwilling to sign a contract I’d probably rather give the position to Rashford who clearly wants to stay. But if Pogba does stay then it gives us a nice problem in guess.

Pogba and McTom should ideally be our midfield two now tbh if we are gonna try and compete for the title, but I’m aware it’ll just take away from Pogba’s qualities.
The club has been briefing the last few weeks we need to shift players off the wage bill if we wanted to make another signing and yet this was announced out of no where yesterday.
Players will leave on loan.
But I think the club will always make exceptions when something special comes along. But that doesn’t detract from how frustrating it is that we keep ignoring midfield.
Ole ain’t gonna drop Fred, he might look like he’s never played football at times but he also does a lot that Ole clearly appreciates.
I think these players will be playing the lions share of games (injury permitting)
Bruno
Ronaldo
Sancho
Pogba
Rashford
So leaves McFred to fight each other for that last spot. And Greenwood IMO will be the one who suffers most from this signing. As for Cavani and Martial… someone surely must be signing one of those this window? And there’s Lingard and James 😂
Something’s gotta give. Does anyone know if Ronaldo counts as home grown?
The only midfielder we signed in the last 10 years who you could say was half decent we let him run his contract down, offer him one when it was too late and let him leave on a free.
You missed out Mata who we gave a new contract in the summer.
I think you will perm any front four from
Crusty, Rashy, Poggy, Penny and Sancho.

personally i thought this was a bad move at the time; in retrospect, the "he's good for the dressing room, an experienced player to guide the youngsters" argument has been rendered entirely redundant now that we've signed two players with multiple major trophies in their cabinet

I would have rather we had addressed the midfield problem than go for Ronaldo. But I am in a huge minority here.
I also wouldn’t have cared if he went to City either.
“why couldn’t we have found the cash we are spending on him on a top notch CM?”

How many top notch CMs are available for £12.8 million?

not sure if you are in a huge minority, but i guess the pro-ronaldo camp has been more vocal over the past 24 hours, for obvious reasons.
i'm kinda with the foxinthebox on this one, a proper holding midfielder might well have been more useful to us, but it's more fun signing ronaldo because, well, he's ronaldo...
Look at it this way. Immediately following the announcement on the NY stock exchange, the value of MUFC rose by over $300 million, before settling back down to around $198 million.
Even if we believe that the club are going to pay Ronaldo 500k a week, that covers his salary for the next four and a half years on current exchange rates.
And that’s before we even ask the sponsors to contribute, which we will, and they will do.
Yeah my head said a CM but my heart (well at least the fun of the game) said Ronaldo.
I always said I didn’t mind if he went to City but I can see why Ole could (according to reports).

From a footballing point of view, I’d agree VC.
However, from a financial perspective, this was just good good for the Glazers to turn down.
The modern game. Sigh.
