If Ole could sell VDB and replace him with some other player if he isn’t going to use him then we would have a better squad. Why not get Herrera back?

Jadon yet we went 28 away games unbeaten lol. Ole problem is playing rubbish players ahead of better players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Some of the rubbish players play better than the so called better ones though.

Mctomminay is a bigger miss for us than so many people like to admit. He's not a fancy name or world class player but I always think we look like we have more of a grip in midfield when he's there.

Matic and Fred and then Fred and Pogba in our last two games have been pedestrian at best.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree completely with this. Scott is more mportant to this team than people like to admit. We are a better team when he plays.

We have these issues regardless of who is playing.

McTominay is a huge miss. Best midfielder we have at the moment in recent form.

Somebody needs shooting if Mctominay is our best midfielder after spending over 400 mill since Old has took over

This. We had so many similar performances with Mctomminay. Isue is deeper than personal. Need big changes in in coaching staff, otherwise there wont be any further pogress

He’s basically a top notch director of football who has been lumped with picking the team and tactics.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pretty much.

Those who defend him go on about his team building, but a manager's first job is to coach his team.

I see the same issues we had last year, we seem to really struggle playing against teams that press us, or sit deep. Passing is still terrible and I still can’t work out what the tactics are other than fast breaks on the counter….and the obsession with GI James.

Because Herrera is 32 and average

We should nick Tuchel's assistant. Cant be worse than Phelan can he?

Wait until May, reserve judgement until then

Following needed to convince me to continue Ole as manager

- serious title challenge ( min. top 4)
- one or two cups
- proper run in CL

If we are languishing 5th with a cup under our belt he may not survive

I think Glazers are after a minimum of top 4, anything else is a bonus for them

I want top 4 plus a cup or two.

From the outside, I think Nev summed it up well to be fair, when he leaves he'll leave behind a good/very good squad for the next manager whatever happens.

Overall in the transfer market he seems to have done well. Football is decent viewing, players seem happy under him.

Tactically he is pretty clueless though and that will always hold you back.

Ole will never sack Phelan, ever!

A good number 2 may be the answer but what if Ole is the reason for Utd not progressing and winning things?! There is an argument for both.

The only difference between him and Arteta is he's recruited well, pretty crucial only difference but still.

It's like watching Southgate's England, the quality on show gets a good number of results but the manager always gets it wrong when it's crunch time.

What's more bizzare is there's a manager free and avaliable who could actually win United this league but the board are too stubborn/stupid to do it.

It maybe worth a punt trying to tempt Daniel Farke, Graham Potter or Hasenhüttl into a number two spot.

The false hope of becoming a United manager one day might lure them.

You must be pretty stupid to think those managers would give up their managerial roles to play second fiddle to Ole!

It doesn't work like that.

Ole has assembled people he works well with. Phelan is very well known to him from his playing days and Carrick is a Utd legend and a trusted coach at the club.

I’ve always said we won’t be winning leagues and Champions Leagues with Ole in charge, but he has done well and in the transfer market, generally, and when he leaves the new coach will be walking into a much, much healthier Manchester United than Ole did.

I know people talk about a DM but if you can’t at least challenge for trophies with Ronaldo, Cavani, Sancho, Rashford, Bruno, Varane etc then there’s something very wrong, imo.

If Ole doesn’t get us closer to the top and deep into the CL then he should go at the end of the season, it would have been nearly five years and 300 million spent and if not now, then when? Another year, two, three? Another 100 million, 150? 200?

Last season we played 6 games and had 7 points and a -4 goal difference. This season played 3 games and 7 points as well aa +5 goal difference. Now to beat last season 6 games tally we need to net get thrashed in next. 3 league ganes.
