Liverpool averaged around a 100 points for 2 seasons with this squad of players, the only thing that derailed them last year was losing the best centre back in the world, and their other central defenders.
City walked the league at a canter last year.
I am not really understanding all the hype around Chelsea, they finished on 67 points last year. Probably have to increase that by around 25 points this years to win the league. People are speaking about Lukaka like his is prime R9 up front. He is the same carthorse who was at united, will score goals, but does he really make the top teams that much better?
City have to be favourites. Followed by Liverpool if they avoid injuries, Chelsea because they have a quality manager, and then United 4th favourites.
Well Klopp keeps downplaying it and adamant hes happy with his squad. £96,850,000 net in his 6 years is pennies for a club of our size can't exactly claim we're skint we just choose to operate this way and Klopp seems all for it.
I think Lesta had bought well again and they had injury nightmare last season too so same excuses as us in a way. Spurs are already surprising a few. Wham strengthened too.
top 3 Chelsea City Utd, im going with Chelsea to win it.
United have the best team and squad by a lot IMO but not sold on Ole tactically
Think City will struggle without a striker
Will be between us and United for title imo
Liverpool Spurs City fighting for 3rd and 4th
Rashford Martial Cavani Greenwood Ronaldo Sancho Pogba Fernandes is insanely good options and so many goals especially with world class full backs like Shaw and Bissaka and you have Maguire and Varane great headers of the ball for corner goals
Think our attacking options is still a bit weak. Havertz looks meh, Pulisic hot and cold same as Ziyech, Mount isn’t hugely creative
Think that’ll leave us struggling
However i believe Tuchel is a fantastic manager and tactically brilliant in the big games and Lukaku will help us out the small teams away, so we should be able to grind a lot of results out (like vs Liverpool the other day)
Gonna be an interesting topsy turvy season that’s for sure
Feel like with those options, United comfortably have a 100+ goal a season team. But Ole is more cautious / defensively so probably restricts it, question is with Ronaldo will the team be simply too good even despite a cautious manager, imagine that’ll be yes
If City are in the hunt then January could change everything. Don't think they win the league again with the current squad though personally although they won't be far away.
Chelsea look the most complete and ready to take their crown.
We look a real dark horse now with Varane Sancho and Ronaldo. That's three top top players added to a team that lost the fewest PL games last season and came 2nd.
I just don't fancy Liverpool to stay the course personally. Think this could be the end of the long goodbye from Klopp too. Great manager but I think secretly he is fuming at FSG. Absolutely seething.
Think 3rd for us, if ole springs a tactical masterclass and wins the league I'll happily eat my words but 2 away games where our midfield has been overrun will catch up.with us eventually, west ham is the next game away, wanna see how ole sets up with ronaldo in the team

I'd probably wait until our team is up to speed before making judgements like that.
Last season we lost two of the first three and people said he wouldn't last till Xmas. We finished 2nd, lost the least number of PL games and went all season unbeaten away.
I am a Chelsea fan and would love your prediction to be true. However, any of the four you have named could go on a run and win the league. City are missing a striker but they won't even notice that in 90% of the matches they play. Chelsea have the deepest squad but we have to see how the younger players react to being favourites this year. Liverpool have a style of play that suits their players but I am not sure they are strong enough to go the whole season with that squad - a couple of injuries would severely test them. And United - jury is out. We have to see if Sancho will be as good as people are suggesting and how Ole man manages the team with Ronaldo's return.
You have to add Champions League and domestic cups - anything could happen!
So City and Liverpool were hitting record numbers for a couple of years on the trot but they will both have dropped below United and Chelsea due to a couple of signings? Can't see it.
I still put City and Liverpool 1 and 2 with City the stronger of the 2.
Wouldn’t like to call it. Think Sancho and Varane good signings but United are still a couple more changes short still to fully back. They’ve got the players that could do it though. Chelsea’s squad looks ridiculously strong, if Tuchel can get the rotation right then they’ll definitely be up there. Liverpool I think will be strong again.

No Liverpool bias there at all then? 😂
I'd say we have more world class players than you now for sure. Deeper squad. More match winners.
Don't think there will be much in it between the 4 teams though. Klopp will get you more PTS than your team probably should get as he's a quality coach. However I think inside he will feel badly let down by FSG.

Agreed. It's the closest the four clubs have been for a long long time. This is the first year since Fergie where I look at the City and Utd teams and it's not a forgone conclusion anymore. Pep still much better coach though and that could be telling.
Fancy Chelsea though myself. Kante is a machine. If he is on his A game most of season and they keep Lukaku fit I don't see them not winning it.

Thiago replaces wij.
And to be fair last season is massively unusual. I can't remember any team in PL history having their 4 main CBs out injured at the same time and then losing the midfielder covering too.
We can handle a normal amount do injuries but I do think City and Chelsea can handle injuries far better than us. United in some positions but Fernandes injured and i think you have lost a lot of your creativity in the middle of the pitch with very little to cover him.

So City and Liverpool were hitting record numbers for a couple of years on the trot but they will both have dropped below United and Chelsea due to a couple of signings? Can't see it.
I still put City and Liverpool 1 and 2 with City the stronger of the 2.

I've literally said City over us so can't see how that can be called too biased. We have 98% of the team that had points totals 2 years in a row that Chelsea and United have never achieved. Obviously very few world class players or match winners though

And two seasons ago form just magically comes back does it? You have heard the expression add when you're on top surely?
If Klopp can keep his core of 14/15 core players fit and firing all season then you've had a lucky season injury wise again like you had a few years ago. Squads win titles usually.
If he can replicate it again then fair play. I just think you're going to be short. Winjaldum not being replaced either is a mistake. He's a big game player.
