36 means nothing when you’re built like alpha panther and have a Federesque approach to your job.
nd until he was injured later that season in March had 25 goals to his name
---------------------------
I alluded to this in a different article how people keep saying despite his age
He is fantastic for any age
the only concern is despite his natural fitness one bad injury could end it all
The only reason I think he might not outscore lukaku/kane is because I still have massive concerns about utd'd midfield
Really not sure why people arent relishing seeing Ronaldo again in a Utd shirt.
the guy is an absolute machine fitness wise and more importantly isnt coming back for one last pay day... his desire and determination is more impressive than his fitness although both go hand in hand.
has he lost his pace... i dunno.. can many players do 92 meters in 14 seconds while not going at full pace the entire distance

Doesn't really matter if he doesn't outscore Lukaku or Kane. It's the idiots who say he can't do it at 36 when its been proven you can if you treat your body the right way. Which he most definitely does!

The deluded individuals. I was one of them thinking likes of Martial and Rashford going to take us back to glory days. When you have a mediocre coach like Ole, any fan questioning a manager like that getting quality like Ronaldo needs their head examining. We have just bought the top goal scorer from Serie A. Not the league it was early 2000s but still not the farmers league that is the French league.
Sky must be trying to move heaven & Earth to get the Newcastle fixture moved for TV. Imagine if Ronnie starts and scores, or gets a couple , the winner even. Not everyone has a magic firestick, MOTD will be the first official platform to show the highlights on TV in the UK, Sky would build it up like the second coming of JC like they did when Eric 'returned'
Zlatan was 34 when he joined.
He was good individually but was often detrimental to the team imo. We finished 6th that season.
While I have similar fears with Ronaldo he is a level above Zlatan.
I have concerns about cr7 and none of them relate to his ability
one other thing I find funny is people playing down his achievement at juve because Italy is an "inferior league". But the same people are lauding lukaku achievement in this inferior league

People also forget about systems, managers and tactics. Remember that Pep bought Ibra for Barca at the peak of his powers but he just didn't fit. Barca attacked with swift short passing movements set by Xavi, Iniesta and Messi and Ibra seemed like a clumsy basketball player. It's not as easy as signing the "best" players but the players who best suit your systems.

This is one of my concerns about cr7 I alluded to in the post above. hopefuly it doesn't become the case
I think a team has to be ronaldo centric to get the best out of him, just like we were with zlatan. To some he is worth it, for me it is a dangerous road.
This was one of the reasons I did not like lukaku at utd. He is a very good player but at the time I felt we needed to play to become lukaku centric to get the best out of him. But he was nowhere near as good as zlatan so most utd fan were happy ro see him leave
Ibra's problem at Barcelona wasn't fitting the style, it was fitting his head through the door.
I agree in the main though, most people's concerns about Ronaldo at United aren't about how many goals he'll score, but about the impact he might have on the overall play. Worries related to his hampering the development of other players are secondary. People wouldn't be thinking about Greenwood that much if Ronaldo suddenly made United CL & PL favourites.
Without a credible midfield, even Ronaldo will do fucx all. It's criminal how neglected our midfield is. We have 7 world class players but also 3 pub players in our starting XI

as an aside, amidst the controversey in the last game most forgot the goal came from varane making that quick pass to greenwood during that "window of transition".This window of transition is when attackers are at their most dangerous and defences most vulnerable.
Sadly, utd have not taken advantage of this transitions as much as we should in previous years. There are a bunch of factors and most have not be addressed imo apart from the signing of varane.
So utd mostly rely on individual players to provide a moment of magic.
Zlatan unbalanced the team. He scored a few but he was incredibly immobile. Ronaldo was and is a far better and more versatile player than Zlatan.

I think they would. Greenwood is very highly rated by the fans
Most of the 'fans' we have on this board spend every week slating our general tactics and style of play anyway so Ronaldo won't be ruining anything.

we do not have a style of play whether it due to poor coaching, management or players. So maybe my concerns about utd become ronaldo centric is unfounded afterall imo utd simply rely on individuals to provide moment of magic in attack rather than having an attacking pattern
