I’m talking more in general, like even if I go to a local restaurant I feel the need to dress smart even though really if I’m going out to a local meal on a spur of the moment I’d rather just wear relaxation clothes
Same when I go horse racing sometimes I feel the need to wear a suit but I’d rather wear Jeans and I don’t really get why the requirement is for a suit. Even fancy dinners or work, why do we need a suit?
Maybe it’s where we’re going back to work with regularity now I’m just starting to question why the fack there is dress codes or why they’re actually needed like what the purpose or point of them actually is in this modern age
The purpose I guess is if you go to a sm art restaurant, you and your partner dress up for a nice evening out, somehow it doesn't feel the same if they seat next to you a couple in t shirts and jeans. Maybe it shouldn't matter, but it would take the evening down a notch for me.

Understand the purpose of dress codes if you have a job interacting with the public for practicality sake, otherwise it's utterly dumb. Get rid immediately!
My workplace is very relaxed on uniforms & it's one of the primary reasons I've stayed with them for 8 years & counting now. Chef slacks got to be one of the biggest offenders of this BS, uncomfortable & unpractical for the sake of 'looking smart' to people you see every day & don't care.
I think in work, or posh VIP places, they're fine. Creates a professional environment and keeps standards high.
Can't we be professional and maintain high standards without relying on clothes to do that?
