Butlins at Pwllheli was the in place when I was a lad. You couldn't beat it so you had to be there.

Missing this one in person as I didn't feel great earlier though I think this was more passing sniffle rather than anything sinister but you can't be too careful.

Been a lot going round, i had that bug last week. Staying home too for similar reasons, a bit wiped out.

I had a fortnight all legal and then went back thumbing lifts. The last ride was with a lorry driver delivering beer to the camp. he took me all the way there. Finding a bed to sleep in wasn't hard.

Got a lift home with a mate in his Mini Cooper.

My dad always told me we were having a busman's holiday, it took me years before I found out he didn't even work on the buses.

What did you end up doing? making pasties?

I stopped at home, my dad went to work.
I only got outside of Lancashire when I was old enough to go to away matches on my own.
