Ronaldos also proven himself around the globe. if Messi fails at psg, even as his young age (ronaldos 2.5 years older), then I think you'd have to say Ronnie is the better player no?

Messi is the better all round player, that isn't even a debate, Ronaldo isn't involved in much of a game at all compared to Messi running the show for years.

If we are talking greatest goalscorer then time will tell, Ronaldo possibly may take this accolade but Messi has time on his side but I am not sure he has the physical levels Ronaldo has and you can see Ronaldo still being effective at 38-39 where I suspect Messi may be pretty much done by 35.

That said, Messi has played 144 games fewer than Ronaldo and only sits 35 goals behind him and has a better scoring rate. Don't really think there is any need to keep trying to separate them, both have been incredible and likely we will never see these levels again.

I love Ronaldo, his thirst for goals is incredible, even after all this time.

But I dont understand how people can watch Messi and ronaldo over the last 15 or so years and think there is a real debate who is better.

Messi scores more goals per game on far less shots, whilst getting far more assists.

Long may Messi's goal drought continue

Watched the game yesterday and I dont think he played badly. Hit the bar with a stunning free kick and had another chance well saved by the keeper.

Ronaldo is the better goalscorer right now but in terms of their all round game, Messi seems to have lost less than Ronaldo has. He still looks capable of dribbling past 3 or 4 players and scoring.

I think he’s got something like 97 games where he doesn’t need to score to equal ronaldos goals to games so had a bit of leeway. And that’s only if you think goals are the only deciding factor in judging a player
