Berserk 1997 series, the ending episode is absolutely mental.
If anyone watches it make sure you skip episode 1, as its set after all the other episodes for some stupid reason and spoils it

Id push everyone to read the manga instead tbh

The 97 anime has an incredible soundtrack tho

On those aggregate sites etc Berserk is usually ranked the best or one of the best manga of all time. Quite the trip reading it though

I want to get into Berserk but concerned about the length of the show. How many manga editions will I need and are they expensive? Would watching the 97 anime give me a good enough grasp to then transition to the anime?

You will want at least the first 5 volumes

If you want to go on from there its up to you. But i recommend everyone read the first 5 (that gets you up to a few things just beyond the end of the 97 anime)

But they got one last chapter out after his death

First 5 volumes is like 50 quid i think, and given the price of books these days that isnt bad

400 quid for the entire series is a bit too much for me to spend.

Yeah manga is a bit expensive if you want to collect entire series

But that is 363 chapters some of the early ones of which are like 80 pages long

Started going through the Evangelion movies on Prime
