How in God's name did we not beat Spurs? They are truly crap!
Fergie knows a thing or two, and he claimed the table didn't mean anything till Christmas time
Interesting to see that Jimenez had shifted the thick part of his head band around to the side of his head.

That's how he always wears it. The thick bit goes over the injury site.

Generally not a great performance today. Great to see Jimenez's goals and what it meant to the team. He had a good game overall. Podence was disappointing, be interesting to see who starts up front next week. Maybe Podence, Jimenez and Traore. Didn't think Hwang added much today.
Need to kick on and not do what we did after Watford.
At least we have plenty of choices up front. But from what we saw today I think Podence and Hwang are best left to come off the bench for the time being. I would be tempted to go back to Traore, Jimenez with Trincao now he has had a break. I would also pick Neves ahead of Moutinho, Boly ahead of Saiss, and Ait Nouri ahead of Marcal.
Willian Jose who was pretty hopeless for Wolves last season is this season playing for Real Betis in the top flight in Spain and tonight scored his 3rd goal in his 4th appearance
Then in the second half made it 4 in 4 games

Brilliant goal from Jimenez from a route one tactic. Agree about Hwang, not suited out wide.
A pretty solid performance overall, with no one player standing out. Jimenez probably gets the MoM because of his goal, but Sa a very close second.
Hope this made your day Boston.

Sure did, not the best performance but the result today was everything.
Spurs got tonked again.
St Mirren drew 2-2 with Aberdeen today and Conor Ronan got both of their goals
Won't ever say that Nuno wasn't good for Wolves - some great seasons. However, I think his days at Spurs might be numbered - gone by January I would say.
He clearly hasn’t won over the dressing room and that’s crucial for a new manager. To be fair to Nuno the problems at Spurs have been going from bad to worse ever since Pochettino left with Mourinho not helping. And Kane’s wish for a move in the summer can only have made things worse
I think one of the reasons for Nuno's success at Wolves was that he was allowed to build his own squad and the play the system that he wanted. At Spurs he has inherited a dispirited bunch of players and has to play a system that they are used to rather than what he prefers. He is definitely the wrong man for that job but the main problems at Spurs are at boardroom level and no manager in the world will bring success to that club whilst Levi is pulling the strings.
Wouldn’t disagree with that gem.
Big match for us next Saturday against a team yet to win in the league this season and another club held back by a poor owner. After playing well in our opening games we didn’t get the points we deserved. Then we had the chance to put things right with a run of games against Watford, Brentford, Southampton and Newcastle. We have won two of the first three and if we can make it 3 out of 4 on Saturday it won’t have been a bad start to the season after all.

We need to be wary of Newcastle. I think they are a much better team than their results so far make them appear. The home advantage may just swing the result our way.
Just going to post the preview thread now.
Kortney Hause scored for Villa on Saturday, another we let go too early. Big strong centre half that we could have done with as a back up.
Yesterday's result was a huge relief, and we deserved the win. However, I'm definitely not getting carried away, we didn't really play all that well over the 90 minutes, and the win came against a poor Southampton effort.
I agree with Gem, Newcastle are probably better than their league position suggests and I expect we will have to play better against them if we are to get the 3 points.
I do think that Jimenez's great goal will help the team. Overall the defence is playing well, we just need to sort out the rest of the team. Is it time to consider playing all 3 midfielders (we only have 3) with, I would suggest, Jimenez, Traore and Podence?
That means a back 4 of course, which generally I'm not in favour of.
we need to start playing to our strengths, and we have a lot of attacking talent, of course the flip side is, if we go with more attacking players in the line-up then as our squad is still light, we have less game changers coming off the bench
We do have talented attacking players but they are not a bunch that are good at turning chances into goals. If Raul now returns to form that will help enormously. It’s a difficult balance with team selection. Everyone wants us to be more positive but unless we hold the opposition to 0 or 1 goal we look unlikely to win
If Bruno's comments last week are anything to go by then we will be playing a back three for a while. He was basically saying he prefers a back four but the players don't fit that system. A veiled dig at the window by the sound of it.
I did read on a BBC website recently that Nuno got the job at Spurs because their Sporting Director wanted a defensive minded coach.
Not sure I'd tinker too much with the squad for the next game. Boly's distribution of the ball more than 5 yards has been abysmal, so I'd keep Saiss for now. Moutinho has been solid all season and deserves his starting spot. Up front, we have to match the pace of their forwards and for that game I'd certainly start Traore.
