The Tottenham Hotspur stadium opened in 2019 and its still called The Tottenham Hotspur stadium….
Why have we still got no naming rights!? Surely it’s money we could invest
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why does the London Ham Stadium remain sponsorless?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Legacy innit, doesn’t belong to them, their landlords would never allow it. If you wanna pebble dash your house you’ve got to buy it off the council first you pikey mugs. Sullivan isn’t allowed to so much as put an extractor fan in his office khaze without getting written permission from Lord Torycunt Coe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If DAZN follow their USA model then ppv Boxing will be about £70
I wonder what cut Thfc get from the fight in terms of ticket sales and food and drink.
For footy the drinks are reasonable but for NFL it is pumped to about £7-8 a pint. I'd imagine it will be the same for boxing. Matchday revenue on the AJ fight could be £8-9m plus sponsorship etc
Would be great if we made WHL AJs boxing home stadium.

I read a while back that Spurs want the stadium to play a big part in delivering a NFL franchise to London.
I've no idea how likely this is but I do know that if Levy could pull that off we are talking billions rather than millions.
Go London Hotspurs!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s been mooted for years, don’t think it will happen. They essentially make the Jags play a home game here every year so they are kind of the home team. However the Jags are owned by Shahid Khan, who also owns Fulham so even if they did become the London team he would probably do up the Cottage and base them there.
We’re better off with the current deal, 2 games a year guaranteed for 10 years - these games always sell out as do the tailgate parties.

you cannot do up the cottage. it's too small for nfl. They played wembley 90k Twickenham 80k and spurs 60k. Fulham has about 25k. Khan wanted Wembley and tried offering 600m. Twas rejected by the FA.

I think alot will depend on the NFL's plans if they want to set up a franchise team here. They did contribute £10m to the build of our stadium. A drop in the ocean for them but it is a small statement of intent none the less.
I think the only good thing about Spurs these days is our stadium it’s an amazing stadium it really is. The best in the world and I love going there, but a stadium like that deserves a world class team playing in it. Shame we have so far never seen the level of investment for the revenue this stadium rakes in. Yes I know Covid happened, but now there is no excuse.

To be fair Don our spending since the stadium opened has gone up a lot compared to the preceding 10 years, and that’s including the club being hit with 18 months loss of predicted stadium revenue only a few months after it opened.
And yet despite spending more, we’ve got worse. Partly because of not spending wisely, but more so because of the hangover of not regenerating when the squad was good. We let nearly a whole squad go stale and are having to rebuild all over again, which is a big and difficult job.
The other issue is not spending wisely. A back up striker like Edouard would’ve been gettable for the same money as Gil whi we didn’t really need, but we focused on the wrong areas of the squad and are now forced into playing Kane and Son in 4 competitions.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We still constantly balance the books Ace. Our net spend is one of the lowest in the league. If we truly showed ambition, we would have bought a striker and a creative midfielder. We are always left short. The issue is, we don’t buy the right players for the positions we need fully. We never strengthen fully in a window like the other top clubs.
It remains to be seen whether increased stadium revenues will be used to build a winning team, or to simply line ENIC`s pockets. Or whether or not the increased revenue will be enough to see us compete at the very top.
One thing is for sure, ENIC will not change and will continue to run it as a profitable business. Will this continued organic approach, with a bigger wage and transfer budget, see us winning silverware, who knows.
What we do know is, Spurs already have a top 10 highest revenue, which is only going to increase further, and yet all Levy does is plead poverty and spend like a club half our size.

So, we basically have spent the same pre stadium to after we built it that’s all your facts tell me.
In 3 years prior to the stadium being built we spent 250 mil, as I’m not counting the 0 spend season.
In 3 years after the stadium, we have spent 293 mil
Wow, a huge 40 mil difference in a 3 years period
No bitter narrative whatsoever. Just stating facts. The club think success is built on a lemonade budget and that’s the truth of it

Strangely you have forgotten the year when we spent £0. I would have thought that was etched on your memory forever.
SO taking the 4 years, £250m spend = £62.5m per season.
FOr the following 3 years, £293m spend = £96.7m per season.
And one of those seasons (last) was mid pandemic, and this season we've had just the one window.
SO an extra £30m spent in gross terms in the 3 windows since.
ANd if you look at our net spend, which you also like to bang on about over and over, then in the 4 years before new WHL, it was a total of £27m (or £6.75m per season).
Since the opening its £183m or £61 per season.
SO overall, gross spending up about £35m a season and net up about £55m
These are the plain, unspun facts accurately represented. The actual truth!
How can you justifying this comment:

Check above mate. We have spent less than Crystal Palace this season when the team needed the most investment. You are never going to convince me that Spurs show ambition in the market because they simply don’t mate. The level of investment needed for Spurs to truly compete and win honours, which clearly the club feel they are at with the stadium etc, they don’t show anywhere near the level of ambition needed. That’s facts Devonshire.
That’s the difference between us as supporters though Devonshire. You are chuffed with the club pulling in money through boxing and concert avenues. That floats your boat, it doesn’t me mate. I want to see this club win trophies. I couldn’t careless about the next Anthony Joshua fight because it doesn’t fully get invested on the field anyway. If so, where is the striker we desperately needed this season? And the creative midfielder?

TBF Don, apart from a couple of NFL matches which have already taken place, the AJ fight is the first event held at the stadium post covid. Think Lady Gaga and a couple more NFL matches are also scheduled in the coming months soon so too early to say where that extra revenue is going to be spent but from memory Levy has stated the funds will go into the team. Time will tell.
Personnally I think there are more funds to spend as we were bidding for the Inter Milan striker and were linked to Adama before the window closed.
Maybe we will spend again in January who knows? I think from Levy's point of view he probably put a halt on spending after signing Royal due to the fear of another lockdown and losing more money.
I don't agree with it and like you we should have gone in for in for Edoaurd at the very least for under £20m. No brainer.
Anyway, we are just going to be going round in circles here. You are a Levy/ENIC sympathiser. That’s pretty damn obvious with the level and content of your articles. All extremely pro Levy/ ENIC and how fantastic the club is under them. I don’t agree with it mate, so we will never see common ground on this. Off the field they are more than fine, but on the field where it truly matters, the level of ambition for a club wanting to compete with the very best simply isn’t good enough.

20/21 - £100m - Net £88m
21/22 - £60m - Net £30m so far.
But don't let a few facts spoil your bitter narrative.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So, we basically have spent the same pre stadium to after we built it that’s all your facts tell me.

It'll be great for events like this to make us millions to spend on youngsters with potential from the weaker leagues.

This season we are 9th in the table of spenders. Below f*** Crystal Palace. The season where we needed the most investment, we have failed

That’s all I need to know Devonshire. No bitter narrative. Just stating facts to you

I think the only good thing about Spurs these days is our stadiumit’s an amazing stadium it really is. The best in the world and I love going there, but a stadium like that deserves a world class team playing in it. Shame we have so far never seen the level of investment for the revenue this stadium rakes in. Yes I know Covid happened, but now there is no excuse.

Spurs transfer spending:
Pre-New Stadium:
15/16 - £64m. Net -£15m
16/17 - £75m. Net 28m
17/18 - £111m. Net £18m
18/19 - £0. Net -£4m.
After Stadium completion:
19/20 - £133m - Net £65m
20/21 - £100m - Net £88m
21/22 - £60m - Net £30m so far.

"Shame we have so far never seen the level of investment for the revenue this stadium rakes in."
I will not hold my breath!
