So you are moaning that we have 2 keepers, now you are saying we should buy multiple players for a position where we already have players, so would end up with a massively bloated squad.
Our fan base hasn't been moaning about Ben White.
And we spent more than any other club, yet you are here saying we should have spent more
As your fellow Scouser says, it isn't a computer game.
I don't think anyone is saying we're out the woods yet, we still have a long way to go. But a lot of the signings we made were clearly long-term signings (hence the profile of players we went for that were mainly under 23) and have shown more desire/hunger than previous, more experienced players we've had.
People complained about White because of the price-tag, and rightly so, but again, he's another long-term investment. Pointless being too judgmental after 6 games.
The facts are though we do appear to have strengthened our team compared to last year. Maybe not to the extent we would like, but it is better.

I think people were more annoyed with the manner of those losses, as opposed to the losses themselves. Which, again, we were justifiably allowed to be annoyed at.
I'm still not convinced by Arteta, but he's beaten everyone he was supposed to have beaten after playing the European Champions and Champions of England.
If we carry this vein of performance on against Brighton onward, then there is potential for us to have a decent season.
But I'm under no illusions there'll be bumps in the road and things won't always go to plan. However, what I won't tolerate is the gutless displays like the one we saw at The Etihad. Anymore performances like that and we're in trouble.
It's still quite early to judge a lot of these signings, but from what we've seen, we can be cautiously optimistic.
I don't see anything wrong with that, do you?
All I have said is that I am surprised that they spent 30 million on a keeper when they had another in that position when others needed more attention.

Positions in which we have bought players
You do realise we are not in the Champions League, not in European competition at all. Our squad is too big as it is, and you are here saying we should sign even more players?!?!?!??!
We have had a squad revamp, we signed 12 players in 12 months and also promoted top youth talent. That is after a rebuild the previous 2 seasons as well.
Most of our current team are new additions.

Spurs needed to strengthen their CB area so they bought Romero. Do you write Romero off after 6 games, most of which he hasn't played in?

Great teams you’ve had a mare here. Leno is an awful keeper and we needed an upgrade on him desperately. Most Arsenal fans have been complaining about selling Emi, a far better keeper, for over a year now.
Personally thought Ramsdale was a banter signing and he could still end up being one but GK was an area that clearly needed improving on.
It's crazy what a couple of decent games (or poor games) will do the opinion of some fans. Arteta over the past couple of seasons, seasons being a far better measure than a couple of games has been generally woeful and his signings have not performed.
It'll be fantastic if this season it all turns around but there is so much left to prove.
Seems there was a bit of a disconnect between what fans thought we needed for the GK position and what the club wanted. Most of us thought Leno was good enough for now and we just needed a back up, Arteta and the club clearly thought he needed replacing and went after a number 1. So when we got Ramsdale the fans thought it was ridiculous to be spending that much on a back up, but turns out he was always seen as the number 1. So in that framing 30m for a new starting keeper isn’t bad business, especially if he does well and holds his place. Of course there’s the argument we could have spent it elsewhere, but that’s not always how it works, if you know you want a keeper and the deal is there to be done now you usually do it. It’s likely that other positions we needed to strengthen in like forward or CM, the deals just weren’t viable in the summer, so we went for a starting keeper instead. Maybe if say locatelli was willing to join we’d have gone for him and left the Ramsdale deal. Just because we spent on a keeper doesn’t mean the club thinks we’re sorted in the other areas. It takes time to build your ideal squad, and it can’t always be done in order of importance
