there is no killer instinct in this side, it's all too nice, Root is too nice a captain and it shows in the team, perfectly evidenced yesterday when we had them at 12-3, we took our foot off their necks and let them breathe and eventually finish with 300+

Silverwood wants Root to remain has captain and Root wants Silverwood to remain has coach.. this is where those above stop banking the millions they make from Sky and BT and actually do their job.

"It's an opportunity for Billings to make a mark", a skid mark in his pants most likely.

It started with Wood being allowed to bang the ball in half way down, after the two opening bowlers bowled a great line and lenght..has soon as Wood started to bowl like that. Root (like a captain should do) is say hang on a minute stop this and try and hit off stump.

yep and then when he should have been bowling short later on he wasn't 🙄

he'll have to score runs. ORRRR ITS BACK TO BUTTLER FOR THE WEST-INDIES TEST MATCHES.

I CBA to even blame individuals at this point though, the whole setup, preparation, tactics & decisions is a complete shambles and that has led to what we've witnessed for 5 test matches

Its not a new thing.. I still remember the 47 all out against NZ away.. Our batting has been terrible for at least 5 years

Australia are miles ahead of us, we'll do well to be competitive against them at home in 2023, we need a complete rebuild and I doubt we are even producing the players to do that anymore

very upsetting the state of our test cricket

The standard is poor.. the facts the gave Keating Jennings 20+ test shows that.. you just know we'll go back to Sibley..

Yep, tbh the quality bowling, Anderson and Broad in the prime mainly, often detracted from the poor batting pretty much ever since England's decline from being no 1 ranked in tests early last decade, so this has been coming.

These BT commentators/pundits don't help either, no one has the balls to be honest and call out how s|-|ite we are and be honest about why we are, constantly trying to find little excuses for everything, boring listening.

Jim Dale: Ben Stokes averages 36.5 with the bat & 32.3 with the ball in Tests. Once every 3 of years, he does something ridiculous, which is enough to convince people he’s a world beater. His output is usually underwhelming, though. Worth his place, but over-hyped.

For the west-indies tour..id pick Parkinson give the lad a chance.. and Saqib Mahmood.. He looks a much better prospect than laughing clown Mark wood.

may as well give a bunch of youngsters a chance in the hope we unearth some gems

Pope doesnt have a prayer at test level. Looks just like Bell but without the run scoring

Get these losers home. Don’t even come out for the second innings, this is embarrassing

That Tim Paine saga and Cummins becoming captain was also one of the worst possible things for us, wouldn't have changed the series result but he is an absolute killer who was made for captaincy, he was already incredible but it's elevated him even higher and Paine is a pooseycat.

Blessing in disguise for AUS

When I saw Cummins was going to be captain I thought f*ck, this is definitely going to be an absolute battering now and it has been nothing short of that, World's best bowler with the bit between his teeth to lead by example was never going to be positive for us. We'd have still gotten pasted if Paine was captain but Cummins has taken their attack to a whole new level.
