I think the Conte appointment could genuinely have even more comedy value than the Nuno one.

18 month contract smacks of desperation for Levy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
not really. Tuchel had an 18 month contract when he started at chelsea. its not particularly uncommon.

piddly little wolves and west ham now know they wont be above us for much longer
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That is what you thought when you brought Moureen 😂😂😂

And what is this obsession with bringing Chelsea binned managers 🤣🤣

Time will tell, "if" backed in the transfer market I've no doubt Conte can do well. However this is Spurs, with Levy in charge of the purse strings, so you have to admit it's a big "if".

It’s a bit of a myth about Conte and money, the Chelsea team that won the title were very good but they had better sides in the past and better sides since. The guy turned Victor Moses into Roberto Carlos and a 35 year old Ashley Young into Cafu.

More than anything else I think he will get the players properly fit and focused and get Kanes head back in the game.

Bookmark, but I would be surprised if come New Year’s Day we are not at least 5th and still in Europe. Then the transfer window opens.

Also putting success and West Ham in the same sentence is offensive even if we are talking about the Europables

5000 days since you have won anything meaningful, including a Mickey mouse cup, then you call yourself as an "elite" club , then it's not offensive to the word "elite"?

Strikemug is an alt account for Palmer's sppud

West Ham have currently gone 15,152 days without a trophy.

West Ham we’re founded in 1895, in their 126 year existence they have failed to win the league even once

West Ham have been relegated more times than they have won trophies

West Ham have never qualified for the Champions league

West Ham are the worst club out of the teams in the premier league that do not own their stadium

West Ham’s highest ever Premier league finish is 5th

West Ham’s highest finish for 2 decades just happened to coincide with their fans not being allowed in the ground - showing they aren’t the 12th man but more of a hindrance

The Independent once described West Ham as the home of the deluded fan

Frankly considering the paucity of the opposition it would would be embarrassing if you weren't still in Europe and as for the league Spurs have some "easy fixtures coming up so some improvement in position should definitely be expected.

I do find it a bit contradictory that you start off by saying it's a myth about Conte and money, but finish with "Then the transfer window opens" like for Spurs and Conte that's the big game changer.

One thing though, Levy must be having sleepless nights, he has to have promised Conte he can make signings, how many in January we can only speculate, but selling teams will know this. Prices will go up because of this

I think all Spurs fans must be having a little chuckle that Levy's hand has been forced, he will have to spend money and very likely at over the odds prices.

Spurs will probably improve and Levy gets taken down a peg, you guys can enjoy both bits of that, personally I'll only enjoy the Levy sweating bit

Look we all know he's cheap, but Barnsley? I'm sure even he has some standards.

Sir Alex Ferguson himself would need some money with this squad, particularly to sort out our pizz poor midfield that has been left neglected for too long.

But Conte isn’t a cheque book manager like some would have you believe - he isn’t going to do a Pep and spend £250m on the defence

Players wouldn’t want to live their, if anything Barnsley would probably be back in the Prem by now if they moved their training base to London - but there’s none so blind as those that won’t see

I fully suspect we will be hitting the freebies of Serie A hard - Kessie, Romagnoli, Brozovic and then a smallish outlay on the likes of De Vrij.

The only statement signing I expect is Vlahovic who will be about £70m.

I am more excited about who we might get out of the door, this squad has underperformed and shirked responsibility for too long, I think that’s about to change and that’s the most pleasing aspect of this appointment
