But I thought Fergie was a great manager. How come his players can't emulate his 'tactical genius'?! π€

Very few top players transition into great managers. 3
I know this isn't a serious article but Gordon Strachan and Alex McCleish did well in Scotland too.
Marcelo Bielsa
Diego Simeone
Mauricio Pochettino
Pep Guardiola
Antonio Conte
Brendan Rodgers
Zinedine Zidane
No competition.

Win trophies?
Arsene Wenger:
Tony Adams - Alcoholic drunk driver who demolishes peoples front walls in his spare time
Paul Merson - Alcoholic Cokehead who has singlehandedly kept bet 365, betfred, corals and Ladbrokes afloat during the pandemic
Ray Parlour - unintelligible curly haired lunatic who spouts utter dwivel on talksport wadio

I think you made some of those up. Conte was a Lippi disciple + Pep was definitely Cruyff more than Bielsa.

Pep talks all the time (obviously not generally) about the influence Bielsa has had on him, and the mentoring he provided him. Conte maybe not so much, but hes attended Bielsa seminars in the past.
It's a very mediocre list of people apart from Wenger and Ferguson themselves

We should scrub Arteta then as he spent most of his career playing for Moyes. So that makes Moyes above Wenger.
Bielsa is a really interesting one in that his indirect influence has been a greater contribution to the game than his actual achievements as a manager.
